“The Reaver chicks? They’re locked in a damn apartment. When the hell would I get to see them?”
“I don’t know. Just tell me if there’s someone else?”
“There’s no one else. We just need to talk.”
She turns away, wrapping her arms around her body in a hug.
“Hey, this isn’t about me not wanting you. I want you so badly I could nut right now if I gave it enough thought.”
“Ewww!”
“Tonight, we’ll talk, and if you want me to fuck you afterward, you’re going to be walking all bow-legged tomorrow. Deal?”
She exhales and gives me a satisfied grin. “Deal.”

Because of the trauma that Maisy endured, Christine thinks it best that she not come to stay with me yet. Eva agreed to stay with her while she’s under observation, because as well-intending as the good doctor is, there are some rough edges that are in desperate need of filing.
“Dude, are you just going to sit there?” Brooke huffs.
I look over to see her standing off to the side, hands planted firmly on her hips.
I bring my legs down and let go of the pole I’d been circling. “Sorry, I just zoned out.”
“I’m totally happy to help you, but you came asking for off-hours lessons and spaced out in the middle of me giving them to you.”
“Maybe this just isn’t for me.”
“You’re doing great. Your fireman spin was fire until you went comatose.”
“I have a lot on my mind.”
“I can act as a confessional if you’d like, but please don’t tell me you’re going to kill Alistair. I get that he makes you pissy, and the world sucks, but he’s super nice.”
“Yeah, I no longer want to kill him.” I frown. “I want to bone him, if there is such a thing as lady boning.”
