She nods. “We both need to be…”
“Aren’t we a little young for retirement?” I ask.
“Aren’t you a little old to get your ass beat?”
I laugh. Wow. Always the gentle one.
I shake my head and put my arm around her. “So, where were you this morning?”
She looks at me. “We’ve just left our bed…” she dismisses.
“Yeah, and you weren’t there for a little bit before I woke up…”
I can’t help but wonder what she’s hiding from me.
I grab a shirt from the dresser and toss it on over my head. “Come with me,” she says.
