I didn’t even know what she looked like.

All my instincts were telling me we would NOT be friends. Maybe it was too much for me to declare her as a foe, but the bitchy side of me wanted to.

"Emperor, I wasn't informed you had guests, especially Yoshimitsu,” the woman spoke up.

I had to stop my eyes from twitching in pure annoyance; the familiar voice only made my anger grow, but a part of my brain had no idea who this woman was.

"Make your report quickly, Erica. Neither myself nor my guest need to deal with you right now," Yoshi said in a deadpan tone, giving me the impression he despised this woman just as I did, which made me smirk with satisfaction.

That's right, no one wants to deal with your two-faced ass...wait. I don't even know her?!

"Guest?" Erica asked.

I took that as my cue to turn my head and meet the woman that was giving me weird vibes and igniting a raging flame within me.

The woman standing before us was 6'3”, and had a slim build. She wore a modern Japanese dress that was rather short considering her height.

She didn't have many curves, and though she wore a dress with a deep v-cut that showed she wasn't wearing a bra, it didn't flatter her.

Though, that could have just been my biased opinion.

She had short black hair that reminded me of my old hair- style, and her lips were coated with dark red lipstick that was the color of blood. Her eyes were what sickened me the most, the color making my stomach flip at the reminder of James' red eyes. She had a cocky grin as she made a slow, judgmental assessment of me. Her eyes alone made me think she was putting me in a category below her level. When her smile widened as she flicked her short black locks, I knew that’s exactly what she'd just done in her mind.

"Oh, my dearest apologies. I didn't think common shifters would be allowed to see the Emperor," Erica said innocently, but her tone made me want to roll my eyes before punching her throat.

A little overboard? Not really. Better than killing, right?

"Erica." Yoshi rose up and faced Erica.

She didn’t seem bothered by the anger in his eyes, which were already beginning to shift to a bright gold identical to his father's.

"Do not insult my girlfriend,” he warned.

Erica's eyes went wide, and she took another look at me.

"Girlfriend? So soon?" She said the words almost as an insult, and before Yoshi could react, I stood up.

Yomato looked at me curiously, and I closed my eyes for a moment to take a calming breath.

I felt Storm's essence running through me just as my own energy began to build, and I felt my Kitsune take a step closer to the surface.

She wasn't afraid of this woman in the least. In fact, she was eagerly waiting to be entertained by this new challenge that we had confidence we'd win.

"You heard correctly," I declared, slowly turning around and walking to stand next to Yoshi. I slid my hand into his before meeting Erica's now stunned face.

She looked at our joined hands, and I smiled in satisfaction when I noticed the anger that surfaced in her eyes.

"My apologies. I should introduce myself since I wouldn't want to be known as just a ‘guest.’ I’m Crimson. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Er-i-ka." I purposely pronounced her name in breaks as I tried my hardest to control the power that wanted to spill out and show exactly who the true commoner in the room was.

She dares test my power? She's nothing compared to me.

I lifted my hand to greet her, and she frowned before giving me a firm handshake.

Her eyes darkened, and my Kitsune wasn't going to have any of that, coming right up to the surface for a split second.

I could tell it freaked Erica out because her eyes went wide with fear for a few seconds before she quickly composed herself and pulled her hand out of mine.

I lowered my hand and deliberately brushed my hands together, somehow creating a spell that allowed a small dose of water to emerge and wrap around my hands, which did its job to clean them of anything from Erica.
