Walk me to the other end of the earth. Please.

I nodded.

We walked in silence. It felt nice. No mention of Crisp. It was almost us again. Only it ended at the iron gates of my Disneyland home.

“Thanks.” I looked up at him and smiled shyly. I couldn’t let him go. So I stared into his eyes, almost begging for a kiss.

He turned, and I turned away. Enough pleading. I was worn out.

I took a few steps, and my heart shrank into a tiny, painful ball. I missed him already.

I stopped and turned to watch him walk away, but he stopped at the same time. Talk about twin flame stuff. I’d read somewhere that an invisible umbilical cord exists between soulmates.

He came towards me, then without another word, he took me roughly into his arms, as though pissed off with me or something. It was an angry kiss.

Of the best kind.

Hot, wet, and hungry.

I couldn’t even feel the earth as we devoured each other’s lips. Our tongues tangled like we were already fucking. His groans echoed in my mouth as he crushed my tits and his dick grew hard against my stomach.

Chapter 22

Drake

ManonassuredmeIcould come and go undetected. She didn’t seem to mind either way. For me, sleeping with Manon at Merivale felt a little uncomfortable, seeing as her grandmother employed me. Before things had gotten complicated, we’d always stayed at my place.

Whichever way, all it took was a taste of her lips, and I would’ve probably scaled barbed wire to get to her. As it was, we walked up the servants’ back-stair entrance.

Once we got to her room, it didn’t take long for me to remove her clothes. I almost ripped them as she giggled. Manon loved me destroying her clothes, especially her panties.

The heat cooled somewhat, however, when I noticed more cuts on her upper thighs.

“What the fuck, Manon?”

Her face dipped, reminding me of a child caught doing something shameful.

“Let’s not go there. I’ve had a shit week imagining you fucking young Cher.” Her eyes met mine again. “I almost couldn’t breathe.”

Her mouth trembled into a sad smile, and I took her in my arms and held her.

My heart melted at the sight of her in such a vulnerable state. I knew I couldn’t stay away, and if I were being totally honest with myself, I also hadn’t been able to breathe thinking of her marrying that vampire.

She looked down at her fingers.

I stroked her soft arm. “You’re the only woman I’ve been thinking about.”

Her eyes met mine again, wide and expectant, like I was feeding her important information.

“Tell me what he has on you. I can try to fix it. Even the family would help. They’ve got the resources.”

Picking at her nails, she looked down again. “I’ll tell you soon. Not now. Just come to bed.” She pulled back the covers.

Those disturbing cuts nauseated me. I was out of my depth. I didn’t know how to make things better for her.

I kissed her wounds one at a time, and she winced.

“Sore?”
