What I needed was to bare my soul, but not until she was sober enough to listen.

Reaching over, I buckled her up and draped my jacket over her lap. Once she was settled, I looked out the window to where my brothers, Craig, and Malorie were all hanging out in front of the club, watching and waiting. I motioned for my brothers to approach.

Dominic knew what I wanted, sighing as he reached the driver’s window. “I’ll talk to them.”

Relief was instant. “Thank you.”

As soon as Dominic walked back toward Craig and Mal, Gabe asked, “What’s the plan?”

It wasn’t a fully baked plan, but it was the one which struck all the right notes in the current situation. Especially if I wanted her alone. “I’m taking her up to the mountains to my cabin.”

He arched a brow. “You have everything you need to stay up there?”

“No, but hopefully if she’s not too pissed off by morning, I can make a run to the store.”

“Or you can concentrate on her, and we can get you what you need. We can come up first thing in the morning with the necessary items,” he offered.

“I’d appreciate that.” I exhaled a shaky breath.

Gabe put a supportive hand on my shoulder. “You all right?”

Truth be told, I was still reeling from everything Addy had said. I’d hurt her. Now grasping how badly, I was hit with insecurity over whether I could fix this. “I will be if I can convince her to give me another chance. If I can convince myself I deserve her. How do I tell her I’ll go to counseling and seek help when I don’t have any guarantees it’ll work?”

“There are no guarantees with anything in life. But if you love her, then trust her. Lay it all out there and don’t hold anything back. Anything short, and you will lose her.”

“Thought you’d be the last person to tell me to be vulnerable when it came to love.”

He sighed. “Those were the bitter words of someone who had a shitty first marriage.”

My brows went sky high. “Wait, did you meet someone?”

He suddenly wouldn’t meet my eyes. “Tonight is about you. Go get the girl back. Or, you know, keep her kidnapped until she changes her mind.”

I chuckled. “Thanks for everything.”

He slapped me on the shoulder. “What are brothers for?”

Dominic came back looking exhausted. “This brother is evidently created for convincing your wife’s drunken cousin who was about to go feral on your ass, to stand down. That was not easy.”

I could only imagine. “Thank you for running interference.”

“No problem. Oh, and Mal said to pass on a message. Two words. Grovel. Hard.”

“I intend to.” Pride had no place in this plan.

ChapterFifty-Four

ADDISON

Oh, dear sweet baby goats. My head. I was never drinking again. Slowly, I opened my eyes. Malorie had apparently deposited me in a bed, but the log beams over my head told me I wasn’t anywhere familiar. After sitting up too fast, my mouth watered. Not in the good kind of way. Oof, the world was spinning.

“How do you feel?” came a gruff voice.

Leo. The mere sound of his sexy voice made my heart hammer in my chest. Geez, despite being hungover, the man could manage to turn me on. “I’ve felt better.”

“Here. Drink.”

He handed me a mug. I took it with hopeful gratitude. But one sip had me scrunching up my face. “What is this?”
