Never again. I was officially done with it all. No more navigating the douche-filled waters of online dating with unsolicited hairy dick pics and acting like a fish in a barrel, as Leo had called it. No more horrible first dates. No more disasters where the mention of my name caused a man’s balls to shrink and curses to fly out of his mouth.

I’d miss sex. Then again, I hadn’t had good sex in years, and even those encounters paled in comparison to Leo’s fingers. Okay, fine. I’d buy loads of toys to fill the void.

I’d have “double penetration Fridays,” and “massage wand Saturdays.” Hell, I’d buy a different toy for every night of the week. Why the hell not? I’d set up a charging schedule, clear out a drawer, and line it with silk. Then I’d find the best seven battery-operated boyfriends on the market.

Silicone wouldn’t judge me. Neither would lube.

As far as starting a family went, plenty of women were successful as single moms. Hell, if anything, I’d be able to accelerate my timeline by engaging a fertility clinic and doing it on my own.

Self-doubt whispered in my ear. Perhaps a hot mess shouldn’t be thinking about adding children to the mix, but I’d stuff her with takeout food and tell her to shut up.

Food. Right. How the hell had I been on the verge of dinner twice in one night with two different men, only to end up with an empty stomach?

ChapterSixteen

LEO

“Fuck,” I muttered, soaping up my junk, rinsing, and soaping again. By the time I no longer felt the tingling of Satan’s lip gloss, the water had started to run cold.

Stepping out of the shower, I grabbed a towel and called for Addison. No answer. Crap, I’d reacted badly. The girl had to have the worst luck of anyone I’d ever known. I knew full well it had never been her intention to burn off my dick and balls. Talk about a balance of heaven and hell. My balls were heavy with lack of release, and I now remembered how good she’d felt, her lips wrapped around my dick. At least before the burning.

Putting the towel around my waist, I walked down the hall. “Addison?” Shit. Maybe she’d gone into the kitchen or back outside? “Addy, look, I’m sorry for what I said. I overreacted and wasn’t thinking.”

The house was empty. Where the hell had she gone? Finding my phone over by the couch, I pulled up my home security system, cursing when I saw the front door camera show she’d left twelve minutes ago.

As if her leaving didn’t already make me feel like shit, when I zoomed in, I could see her wiping at tears as she fumbled to get into her car. A kick in the stomach would’ve felt better.

Pressing the phone screen on her number, I muttered, “Pick up, pick up.”

I let out a breath with the sound of her voice.

“Hello,” she answered.

“Where are you?”

“In the drive-through line for In-N-Out Burger.”

Meanwhile our charred dinner sat untouched on the kitchen counter. Guilt hit me hard. “You didn’t need to leave.”

“Yes, I did.”

Silence. Pinching the bridge of my nose, I searched for the appropriate words for a situation like lip gloss causing a burning dick but came up short.

Addison beat me to it. “I’m really sorry about tonight. If we could forget it ever happened, I’d appreciate it.”

As if I could ever forget the feel of her lips wrapped around my cock and the way she’d eagerly taken my orders as if she were my perfect consort. “Is that what you want?”

“More than anything.”

So much for her not having any regrets. “Consider it forgotten then.”

“Good. I’m next up in line, so I’ll let you go.”

“All right.”

“Goodbye, Leo.”

“Wait. Before you go, I wanted to say I’m sorry about what I said.”
