When we were both boneless and exhausted and covered in cum, I rested my head on his chest and looked up at Daddy’s soft smile. I could see the passion and ownership in his gaze as he stroked my head softly. “Just you, baby. Nothing else matters.”

No. I knew as I pressed a soft kiss against his chest that nothing else mattered but him.

Chapter Thirteen

Gray

“Daddy…shoot. I was supposed to say Gray.” There were too many people in hearing distance for me to just start randomly laughing, but it took every ounce of self-control I had not to at least snicker. “Um, I have a problem.”

Since that could mean anything from breaking his favorite crayon to having to deal with his family, I didn’t know if I needed to worry or not. “What’s the problem, baby?”

Moving toward the back of the gallery, I didn’t bother trying to hide in my office because no one actually left me alone there. Instead, as he made slightly dramatic thinking sounds, I slipped into a small storage room that wasn’t being used at the moment to continue the call.

“Well, um, my grandmother wants me to go to the garden party. I forgot about it. It’s tomorrow.” His confession had me groaning.

“I’m a terrible Daddy. I forgot about that.” Because I’d been serious when I’d told my mother I wouldn’t accompany her.

My reaction had Camden giggling and his stress level seeming like it was coming down. “No, you’re a very good Daddy. I just…I don’t know what to do.”

Okay, we needed a different starting point with the conversation.

“Alright, baby. Do you want me to handle it and explain to her that you won’t be coming or do you want me to go with you to make sure you’re not ambushed and you get to leave as soon as possible?” There were probably other options, but those were the ones that came to mind the fastest.

“Oh, you’d do that?” His slightly awed tone didn’t tell me which one he was thinking about. “That would be perfect, Daddy.”

Yep, still no help.

“Baby, which one do you want me to do?” Contrary to what the internet said, Daddies were not mind readers.

“Oh.” His frustrated huff was definitely aimed at himself. I found myself smiling as he sighed, and I heard him moving around in the background. “Okay, away from work. Yes, now I can think. What was I saying?”

Ah, someone had called him in the middle of a work session.

That had everything making much more sense.

“We were talking about the garden party and you wanted help.” I’d hoped the prompting would get him back on track again, but he was delightfully distracted.

“My mother called. I think my stepfather told her to remind me and that means that Grandmother called him to remind me, and now…and now I’m very distracted. I was working, Daddy.” His frown came through in his voice, but I was still smiling stupidly.

“They were rude, baby. But now that they interrupted you, let’s just fix this and then you can go back to working.” His huff this time was more resigned.

“Yes. We should handle it.” We definitely meant me, and I was back to almost laughing as he sighed and moved again.

“You’re very smart, Daddy.” And he was back to being wonderfully distracted and had probably forgotten why he’d called already. “Did I tell you that I was working?”

Yep. His imagination was calling again.

It was probably insane that I got so delighted at being able to guess what he was doing, but I loved that we were starting to really get to know one another outside of being Daddy and boy.

“Thank you, baby. But the garden party.” Dragging him back to the point, I tried to keep my smile out of my voice. “What would you like to do about that?”

“Yes, the garden party.” He paused, making me wonder if I was going to get another round of how smart I was because his brain had already jumped back to work. But I was pleasantly surprised when he managed to stay on track this time. “Would you come with me and just help me escape? You’ve been before, right?”

Before I could respond, he answered his own question. “Yes, you said you did. I’ve managed to skip out on most of them because they’re boring and I annoy Grandmother when I wander off, but you’d make sure everything was okay, right?”

I wasn’t exactly sure what his wandering off entailed, but knowing that he couldn’t need more attention than my mother, I agreed. “Yes, I will make sure everything is okay.”

Honestly, aside from his grandmother, one good glare would keep most of his family in check. “We’ll make a short appearance and leave before it gets frustrating.”

“Yes. Leaving would be good…” The distracted tone was back now that I’d promised to scare off the real world. “I had another question…oh, are you coming over, Daddy? Didn’t we say you were coming over?”
