“He didn’t see.” I giggled against his neck. “You guys crack me up.”

“Big brothers. Always a pain in the ass.”

“Well, he’s gonna be my big brother, too, so I better get used to it, right?”

“I like the sound of that.” He rolled us to our sides and pushed off the covers.

He pressed another kiss to my lips. “And I missed your counting.”

“You did not miss that.” I hugged him close, forcing him onto his back.

He laughed. “Oh, I did. Count for me, LizBelle.”

“Quit.” I laughed. My counting and crazy quirks drove Trent nuts. I’d never felt anything but accepted and perfect when it came to Damon.

He tackle-kissed my neck, nipping and blowing, tickling me.

“Omigosh, stop. That tickles!”

He pushed me onto my back. “Missed that, too.”

He was torturing me. “Damon!”

“Not until you count.” He came in for another tackle-kiss to the neck.

“No! Wait.”

“I’m kidding. Come here. I need more of you!”

EPILOGUE

Lizzie

“Hey,whatareyouguys doing here?” I asked, hugging Angelina as Hunter came into Damon’s house, holding bottles of wine.

“Heard my bestie was here,” she said. “And it was more than a Thanksgiving dinner.”

“Uh-oh,” Damon said, his hands up as he approached. “Busted.”

I reached for his hand and guided him to me. “What’d you do?”

“He called and told me. Don’t be mad. So we had to celebrate Thanksgiving turning into an engagement party.” Angelina jumped up and down. “Sorry. It’s, well, it’s about time.” She smacked Damon. “Jeez.”

“Careful. She’ll go all Lara Croft on your ass,” I said to Damon. “It’s okay. Thanks for telling her.”

“Come on, already, turkey’s getting cold,” Sarah said from the table. “Glasses, everyone.”

I sat next to Damon, but he stood. “Okay. So now I can do this right.” He cleared his throat. “Elizabeth Brown.”

My cheeks flushed.

“I know you said yes already, but humor me.” He stood up, holding my left hand, and I stood beside him. “Elizabeth Brown. Will you marry me?”

He held a ring to my ring finger.

“Oh my gosh.” It was Mom’s ring. “How’d—”

I looked at Angelina, and she had tears rimming her eyes. “I knew where you kept it.”

“Yes!” I squealed. “Yes.”

He slid the ring over my knuckle, and like everything with Damon, it fit me perfectly. He kissed the ring, then my lips.

Clapping ensued and, through the tears blurring my vision, Mom’s ring was on my finger. A piece of Mom and Dad was here with me on my special day and would be forever.

I held up my glass and said, “To forever.”

“Forever.”
