“I’ve had a few. You?”

“No girlfriends.” His jeans hit my back.

“Very funny, LizBelle. Now hand me some jeans to try on.” He held out his hand, and I dropped the pants into it, then turned right back to facing the door.

He wore blue boxers. And they were snug.Holy cow.

“You’re totally facing the door, aren’t you?” he asked. “That’s so cute. So, I’m guessing no for you having many boyfriends.”

I shrugged.

“And by the no answer, I’m guessing I was right.”

“Oh, sorry.” Dang it. I forgot he couldn’t see me shrug.

“For what?”

“Nothing. Um. No. It’s that obvious, isn’t it?”

“A little.”

“To a blind guy, I’d say that means it’s probably blaring like a neon sign across my forehead.”

“It’s okay. It’s cool.”

And freaking embarrassing. I scrubbed my face with my hands.

“Don’t suppose you could have dated much when you were homebound. Makes it pretty hard to meet people.”

“Wait. What?” My voice cracked. How’d he know about that? I hadn’t told him, had I? Or maybe I’d said something during that night terror. Crap. I couldn’t remember. But I must have told him.

Then again, my mind was whirling right now at the fact that I was standing in this small room with him changing in front of me.

“It’s no biggie. You busted through it. That’s pretty awesome.” I heard the zipper on his jeans. “Okay, how do these look?”

I turned around, and he stood before me in his new jeans. They were a little snug up front, but slightly baggy everywhere else. At least they didn’t hang off his butt. With his gauges, pierced brow, and sleeve of tattoos down his left arm, the baggy jeans didn’t work.

But this worked.

He was sexy. Sexier than ever.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Lizzie

“Thejeanslook…good,”Isaid, hoping my voice didn’t crack.

“I was going for uber sexy, butgoodwill have to do. Hand me a shirt?” He peeled his off, and in this light I got a clear view of his nipple ring.

“So, did that…” I tapped his pec, above the ring. “Super hurt?”

“Don’t remember it much.” He tapped the hoop and huffed. “I was smashed. Not one of my better decisions. Like these.” He touched his gauges. “Stuck with these, though.”

He stood there, his eyes in my general direction, but they were unseeing. It was so strange to not be seen when someone was facing me.

His eyes really were as blue as the sky on a clear summer day. And that halo of golden brown gave them an air of mystery. Almost mischievous.

“I asked Drey about you,” Damon said out of the blue.
