I don't wait for her to answer.

I pull her to a waiting cab. I hold the door open. Jaz slides in, and I follow closely behind her, crowding her so that her little body is slammed into my side.

The scent of her shampoo fills the cab, mixing with the leather and the familiar smell of the smoke staining my skin.

I bark our direction to the cab driver before I turn back to face Jaz, my eyes locking on hers as she looks up at me, her cheeks flushed and her lips parted.

She's fucking beautiful.

"Are you sure?" she asks again, her voice still breathy.

"Positive," I assure her once again, my hand coming up to cup her cheek. Her eyes widen, and I'm not sure exactly what she's thinking, but I don't let her answer. I lean in, burying my nose in her neck and breathing her in. Fuck, she smells like heaven.

It’s too fast, but I’m not in control of my actions. Everything in her is calling to me.

I kiss her neck, my lips brushing against her soft skin, my fingers tangling in her hair and pulling her toward me.

She gasps when I pull her so that she's straddling me and grind my hips against hers, humping my erection against her.

And that's when I know that she'smine.

I don't care what she says.

I don't care if it's been a while.

I don't care if we've only known each other for a couple of days.

I've never felt like this about anyone.

I'm not going to let her go.

Jaz

I should be worried.

I should be freaking the fuck out.

I mean, let's face it. I'm in a cab with a firefighter who's a veritable stranger to me.

I don't know him.

But something about him...

No, something about us...

Us?

I'm not fucking thinking about that now.

Something about him makes me feel like I can trust him.

Iwantto trust him.

And that's all that matters.

I should be worried.
