“Come, I saw something … I want your opinion.” I pull her with me. “Walk sweetheart.” She smiles as she drags her feet. “You see anything in this cabinet that you like?” I watch her eyes. “Rose, will you unlock this cabinet?” Amelia looks up at me and then Rose.

“What would you like to see Mr. Starks?”

“This ring, the diamond with the halo of sapphires.”

Amelia leans over, whispering, “I believe you’ve lost your mind.”

I grin, looking at her. I hold it, admiring it. It’s perfect. It’s exactly like the wedding set in my dream, when my soulmate first appeared to me. “Tell me sweetheart, what do you think of this ring? The style of it I mean.”

“It’s everything a girl could ever want.” She smiles as she looks at. “Can I touch it?”

“You can try it on if you like.” I grin, watching her eyes as she slides it on her right hand. “It looks beautiful on you. Perfect. Do you like it?”

“Yes, of course I do,” she whispers. “Don’t you dare get any ideas. You’ve already purchased me a beautiful necklace and I love it.”Oh sweetheart, I’m way ahead of you.

“Yes, it is absolutely stunning against your finger. The cut is perfect for your hand.” Rose is beaming. “Shall I tell you about it?” Amelia shakes her head no as I nod yes.

Rose smiles at me as I nod for her to proceed. “The center stone is a thirteen-carat emerald cut diamond with a double halo; cornflower blue sapphires accent the exterior edge of the halo. Additional diamonds cover the gallery and split shank band.” She smiles as Amelia turns her hand admiring the piece. “It really is quite lovely on you. I see you like the cornflower blue sapphires.” She noticed Amelia’s earrings.

“Yes.” Amelia smiles as she touches them. She grins at me.

“This ring is part of our sapphire wedding set, but you could wear it on your right hand.”Shit, Rose why did you have to say that?

“Oh.” Amelia slides it off her finger and gives it back to Rose. “What sort of wedding band would one wear with such an elegant piece?”What the fuck?I wasn’t expecting her to be interested. I look back at the group. They’re grinning. I flag Steve to come inside before I turn back to Amelia.

“It’s designed to wear with this band.”It’s perfect. I will buy both. “It definitely makes a statement worn as set.”

Amelia laughs. “I think it makes a statement worn independently.”

I look back at Amelia. “Is there anything else you liked in here?”

She smirks. “I’m not talking about it.” I laugh as she walks to Tierra and Tina.

“Sir, you wanted me.” I nod at Steve.

“Rose, box both of those rings as well as this titanium wedding band.” I look at Steve. “I need you to handle this purchase. Rose, my driver will wait and collect the items. Put it up for me until I ask for it later.”

“Yes sir!” I reach in my pocket, handing him my personal card.

“Would you like to try your band on?” I grin, looking at Rose. I look back at them, they’re totally preoccupied with something.

“Sure.” I slide it on, it fits perfectly like I knew it would. I smile and give it back quickly.

Rose is beaming as she whispers, “May I offer my congratulations? She will be surprised. You two make a stunning couple.”

“Thank you!” I nod walking away.

AMELIA

Pristine beaches stretch as far as I can see. It’s literally a picture right of the Travel and Leisure magazine. Subdued shades of white sand … almost like a pastel chalky pink shoreline encompasses the rich turquoise ocean. Breathtaking! This part of the Atlantic Ocean is different than what I’m used to. Fernandina beaches are gorgeous, but this is something everyone should experience in their lifetime. I smile, looking over my shoulder at Quinton. His smoldering eyes were burning into me, I knew he was watching. Tierra is right, they’re always watching … gawking. Quinton’s life really is like a dream. On the outside he appears perfect … but there has to be something …

“I’ve been waiting all day to see your beautiful body in that swimsuit.” Quinton wags his eyebrows standing … waiting … crossing his arms across his broad chest. I roll my eyes, situating our stuff under our private beachside cabana.

“What? She didn’t give you a feel in the limo, when we all got nookie time?” Michael teases. I laugh at Michael, spreading our towels on the cushions.Honey, Quinton did more than cop a feel.

Quinton ignores the teasing, obviously waiting for an invite to remove my dress. But I don’t cave, just yet. The idea of him … a man like him … pining over me, turns me on. Guess Eric was wrong, apparently Mr. Starks does want me!

Shit! Now I’ve let myself remember him … Eric! He’s probably having a fit about now with worry. I can’t believe I’ve just vanished on him. My lips curl into a halfhearted grin … he sort of deserves this. No!No Amelia, no one deserves to be stepped out on.I look at Quinton grinning, waiting, watching—it would kill me if he stepped out on me! Yep, it’s official, I’m a horrible human being. I can’t help but enjoy what I’m doing. All while I’m killing someone else. Quinton’s voice brings me out of my mental altercation.
