She exhales in dismay, turning her terrified face to mine. “Billionaire!” She glances back towards the television screen. “Look, I’ve got to go.”

“Go?” Tina jumps up. “Where the fuck do you think you’re going?”

“You’re on a fabulous fucking yacht, drinking coconut punch with us.” Tierra laughs. “You have nowhere to go. You just need to calm down.”

“I’m fucking dead … ooh, you just don’t understand. He’s going to kill me.” Her hands are shaking. She’s looking around at nothing but ocean. Tina and Tierra are correct, where the fuck is she going to go? “Fuck!” she moans, covering her face in her hands. “I knew I was risking my life to be with you Quinton.” She wraps her fingers around my face, kissing me in a quick one-lip kiss, letting me suck her bottom lip. I tighten my grip, holding her hips close to mine. Her eyes are closed, and she’s pressing her forehead to mine. “It has been worth everything, but you don’t understand—he will kill me. I’m as good as dead. I’ll be better off jumping overboard.”

I don’t release her hips. Tina is rubbing her shoulder. “Don't be ridiculous … you’re panicking. Just breathe … it’s all going to be all right. Breathe.” Amelia turns, watching her breathe in and out. She’s nodding and mimicking Tina’s breathing.

“Look, he can’t touch you.” Tierra is rubbing her other shoulder. “He has no idea where you are … even if he did see that shit.” Tierra looks towards the TV. “Look, you need to pull your shit together. Quinton, Andy, and Michael will not let that moron hurt you.” She sniffles a little, coming down from her freak out, just nodding. “Now let us lay that cute ass down, you’re having a motherfucking fabulous time drinking coconut rum punch on Quinton Starks’s yacht.”

She gasps again, looking into my eyes gripping my shoulders. “Billionaire!” I grin coyly nodding pulling her tighter … I have no intentions of letting her go! She plops down on the sofa.

“Toni, get Ms. Amelia a fresh rum punch.” I sit next to her. “I’m still the same Quinton Starks.”

She looks up at me. “With like what nine digits behind your name.” I laugh. She laughs softly, looking at me, like she’s seeing me for the first time. “And here I was thinking about how I’m going to fit into a millionaire’s world …”

“She’s taking your billionaire news really well,” Michael quips. “We told him to tell you.” She’s just looking at me now.

AMELIA

I’ve cheated with a damn billionaire. I’ve had the best sex of my life with a billionaire. I am in love with a billionaire.Everything makes sense with his lifestyle: the yacht, staff, personal chefs, red carpet, suits … even Trek’s comments about Quinton's relationship status, and Quinton wanting to keep my marital status under wraps. Now I’m cringing inside at the little shot display Tierra wanted to do in front them.

“Thanks,” I tell Toni, taking my fresh drink. Quinton is sitting next to me, relaxing with his hand on my high. I’m looking at it, stealing glances of his handsome face. “Quinton, your money doesn’t mean anything to me. I fell in love with you, maybe at first sight.”

He laughs. “I know.”

My smile is bittersweet. “I’m not able to bring anything to this relationship. Only the baggage of some screwed up marriage. I can see it now, billionaire dates married woman. Won’t that just make wonderful headlines?” I hiss sarcastically.

“Amelia, stop talking like that.” I look up at him, he’s rubbing his fingers across my shoulders. “Look, they print crap all the time, about anything and everything. You’ve seen media feeds before. They will blow up the tiniest thing into something huge and exciting to make money. I’m rarely in the news. So don’t worry about it.”

“But you knew … didn't you? What was going to happen while we were on the island, with all the pictures people were taking … the gawking.” I huff shaking my head. Why wouldn't he tell me? Why would he know this and risk Eric finding out, unless he wanted it out? I look at his silenced face. “You knew there was a chance Eric would discover the truth, didn't you?”

He nods, watching me intently. “Does it change the way you feel?” He gulps his gin. “I never kept my interest in you a secret … just my full identity.”

“No secrets … right!” I huff, looking around at all of them, “The gang's motto.”

“Answer me, does it change the way you feel?” Quinton questions as Toni appears with a fresh gin.

“Of course not!” I say as I realize it really doesn’t change how I feel about him or see him. “But I don’t appreciate being blindsided.”

Quinton looks down at his drink. “Look Amelia, the bottom line is this: we’re together and we’re going to be together, right?”

“I had hoped so,” I whisper, looking at him.

“What does that mean?” he quips. The gang slowly slips out of the cabin. “What are you saying, Amelia?”

“It means … is there anything else that you have failed to mention?” He shakes his head no. “It means if you keep anything from me, we won’t be together.”

“There's nothing else.”

He looks like he is sincere about that statement. “Then yes, I want us. But I’m serious Quinton, don’t you blindside me again.”

He nods with a soft smile. “I’m sorry I wasn’t completely upfront with you. Everything else will work itself out in the wash.” He throws back his gin. Toni has him another one within seconds. No wonder his staff are at his beck and call—he expects it. He’s right, they know what are expected of them. He’s more powerful than I thought … and he expects certain things … he’s an alpha male billionaire!

“I’m calling Eric.”

He nods, grabbing my hand. His thumb lovingly caresses the back of my hand. “Not alone! I told you, we will face this together, phone or in person.”
