“I’m glad you came. Tell me, did you make it home all right? No sickness?”

I smirk. “No. I was fine. I slept all the way, until now.” I smirk, looking down at my boobs bulging out of the dress.

“Good! You partied hard. Eric said you weren’t a drinker.”

“Eric doesn’t like the club scene,” I correct him. “It’s been a good ten years since I’ve been in a club.” I laugh, running my fingers over the bedding. I don’t want to think about Eric or talk about him.

“You looked beautiful last night.” I smile at his confession. “You literally took my breath away when I saw you walk in.” I hear him moving something. He’s speaking to someone in the room with him, his voice is muffled.

I’m grinning as he finishes talking. “I didn’t mean to interrupt you.”

“You’re never an interruption. Think of yourself as a beautiful distraction in my gray and navy world.” He laughs. “I was just signing some documents. Tell me, Ms. Amelia from Amelia, what are you doing?”

“Well, at this exact moment, laying in my bed.” I smile. “I do have guests arriving later this evening.”

“Really! So when you said you just woke up, you meant you literally just woke up.” He’s grinning in his voice again.

“Yes, I literally rolled over and called you.”Well, after I had an incredibly hot sex dream, but I’m not sharing that detail.

“The girls really enjoyed meeting you, Amelia. They hope that you will visit the club again.”

“Oh, please tell them I enjoyed their company immensely.”

“Just theirs?”Oh did he really just go there?I smirk down at my phone.

“And Gerry and Marcus,” I tease. He laughs loud.

“Well, Ms. Amelia from Amelia, I’ll be sure to pass that little tidbit along.”

“And of course you, Mr. Starks,” I breathe as I roll over holding my phone now.

“I do hope so. I would love to dance with you again, sometime.”

“I think I would too,” I whisper. Why, I don’t know. I’m alone in the house. The line goes quiet for a moment. I don’t know what to say. I can hear him on the other end.

“What are you going to do while Eric is out of town next week?”

I grin. “I don’t know. I guess be here. I really don’t have any plans.”

“What days will he be gone, do you know yet?”

“He hasn’t mentioned it. He’ll probably find out today or tomorrow.” Why does he want to know? I’m so curious.

“Would you want to maybe do something?” I freeze. Is he asking me out? “Are you still there, Amelia?”

“Yes, I am here,” I breathe. “Are you asking me out or as friends?” I really want to be more than friends with this man, but I’m married. He laughs at my question. I guess it is silly. “I guess that is a silly question,” I confirm.

“Amelia, you’re a married woman.” His admission is like a knife to the heart. “That is a line I’ve never crossed.”

“I know, you’re right. This is so crazy.” I start to talk fast and babble. I can’t hear him laughing anymore. But I know he’s on the line, I can hear him breathing.

“I’ll take you anyway I can have you, Amelia.” I freeze. “Take that statement however you want to take it. You’re the most enchanting woman I’ve ever met. I cannot get you out of my head. I don’t want to stay away from you, your life. So if we’re to be just friends, then so be it. If …” He goes quiet.

“Okay then, yes I want to see you.” I grin, feeling all sorts of emotions.

“Great! I’ll get some ideas. I’ll leave it to you to let me know the dates. Probably best to call me, I don’t want to risk calling and Eric receiving that call.”

“Okay.” I grin looking at Eric’s side of the bed. What the fuck have I just agreed to doing? “I have guests all weekend, starting today.”
