“Certainly, Ms. Johansson.” I watch as the valet snaps his finger and another guy rushes to get my luggage. They act like bellhops. “Please follow me. Mr. Starks is expecting you.”

“Oh … okay.” I smile as he holds the glass doors open. “Thank you.”

Security greets me, “Ms. Johansson?”

“Yes,” I confirm, looking around. White marble or granite everywhere. It’s modern and sleek. Everyone is in suits. Even the security look like secret service men: black suits, white crisp shirts, and black ties. He attaches a visitor pass to my dress.

I feel so underdressed, looking down at my short mini strapless white sundress and wedge heels. Thank god I had a pedi and mani done. I wore my hair beach waved, and my makeup is like it was the day I met him.I’m so nervous.

“Please follow me.” I smile as security takes my luggage. I grab my purse and toiletry bag. He scans his clearance card and presses number twenty-eight.

The elevator sweeps up twenty-eight floors. Another set of glass doors open. I hear security tell them I’m there to see Mr. Starks, which they already knew. I walk around the bend and see Gerry, relaxing and hanging out at his desk. “Marcus, Gerry.” I smile as I get closer.

“Oh hell … Lioness is a vision.” Gerry grins as he looks into Quinton’s office. I can feel his pull, I follow his eyes and there is Quinton, standing on the other side of the glass wall—all domineering. His office is huge. “Go on in Lioness.”

I smile as I walk pass him. Quinton meets me at his door, beaming.

“My god you look beautiful.” He’s smiling, looking at me. He’s as handsome as I remember. My dreams of him haven’t diluted what he really looks like at all. I don’t know if it’s nerves or excitement causing my stomach to tingle but I’m tingling—everywhere!

“To be honest I feel a little underdressed.” I look around. “This is your building?”

“Yes.” He’s grinning. God his teeth are perfect. His smile just pulls me.

“You don’t work for anyone?” I smirk as he pulls me into his office. No wonder he laughed about my concern yesterday.

“No, people work for me,” he confirms. I just nod as I walk to his windows.

I laugh, looking at the street below. “They look like ants from up here.” I turn, smiling at him.

He is watching … I have no idea what he’s thinking. “That’s exactly what I say. Amelia, would you like a drink?”

He walks to his wet bar and fixes a gin on the rocks. “I’m good. So what is your big surprise?”

Quinton sips his gin looking at me. “Let me see your cell phone.”

“What? Why?” I’m perplexed but hand it over anyway. “What are you doing?”

“I’m cutting your location off. You wouldn’t want Eric tracking you.”

“No, I don’t.” I toss my phone back in my bag. I can’t believe I’m really doing this.

“Shall we go?” He grabs my luggage. I follow him out of his office to the elevator.

“I was going to tell Marcus and Gerry bye, but I didn’t see them,” I tell him as we shoot down the elevator. He’s just smiling at me.

“May I hold your hand, Amelia?” I laugh; he wants to hold my hand.

“You may.” I slip my hand in his. He grins, looking down at our hands. I let him lead me out of his office building, everyone knows him.Damn, he must be important here.He leads me towards a black limo.

“Mr. Starks.” I hear the driver open his door.

“This is yours?” I ask him and he nods.

“Get in.” I crawl in and see familiar faces smiling.

“What the hell is going on?” I gasp, grinning. Gerry, Marcus, Andy, Tierra, Michael, and Tina are all here. His gang!

“Amelia, I believe you already know everyone.” Quinton gets in and grabs my hand, lacing our fingers. I have an emotion growing inside me. I don’t know what it is: anxiety, excitement—perhaps a mixture of both. It’s deep and fills my entire chest.
