That was another reason Elle hadn’t much liked me, I guess.

“Wow.” She stopped on one of the pages, slowly dragging her finger over the plastic-covered sketch. “I love this.” Her gaze lifted to mine. “Would you ink me with this, if I asked?”

“No.” The word came out harshly. Too harshly. My wolf tugged hard at me, and I quickly added, “If I was inking something on your skin, it would be unique. Not a tattoo I’d already given someone else.”

Or a few someone’s, given the popularity of the small, geometric heart she’d pointed to. Some of the college girls in the nearest town had started spreading my name, which was good for business but annoying considering the constant flirty shit some of them pulled.

Luckily, I was enough of an asshole to them that only a few of them had bothered asking for my number, and weren’t surprised when I gave a flat-out no.

I’d taken to wearing a wedding ring at work after one of the more persistent chicks, but I’d tucked it in my pocket before Iris got there, so she wouldn’t see it and ask questions.

She lowered her gaze back to the book, fiddling with a long strand of that sexy hair.

I glanced at the clock.

Less than twenty minutes until my next client got there… so we needed to get going.

Gently, I eased the binder from her hand. I noticed a blister on the side of one of her fingers as I did so, and frowned.

“It’s already healing,” she said, waving it off.

There wasn’t time to question it, so I dipped my head in a nod, stepping up closer to her.

“So…” she trailed off.

My stomach tightened.

If she told me she didn’t want to have sex again, I wasn’t sure I’d make it through the rest of the work day. Leaving me with a boner, and her scent all over my skin, would be torture. I had a five-hour session after this, with another damn college girl.

“I need more than just a quickie,” she told me.

I blinked.

Hadn’t we already decided that we weren’t going to be together after she was healed from the fever?

Her face reddened slightly, but her expression grew more certain. “I need foreplay. Sexy words. Touching. More than just quick sex,” she explained.

I blinked again.

The pressure my wolf was putting on me disappeared entirely.

Did she think that was going to dissuade me?

What kind of asshole did she think I was?

I stepped away from her, crossing the room and locking the door, and then I set a timer on my phone to let me know when I was down to five minutes left.

My shirt went over my head as I strode back, and I didn’t fight the rumble in my chest when the scent of her desire tainted the air just slightly.

“You didn’t answer me,” she said, eyeing me as I grabbed her by the hips and set her ass on my tiny table.

I wouldn’t have time for lunch… but tasting her would be a hell of a lot better than the food anyway.

Lowering to my knees, I lifted my nose to her core and inhaled deeply.

Damn, her scent…

“Put your hands in my hair,” I told her, hooking my fingers in the sides of her little lace panties and then tugging them down her thighs.
