“Unseelie, then,” I stated.

“I was unseelie, until recently,” he admitted.

“How recently?”

“Last week.”

Damn.

I didn’t love most of the unseelies I’d met. They were colder, more boring.

More calculating, too.

And theylikedrules.

But he smelled good, and I had to dosomethingif I was going to stop Teris from following me. I’d never met a fae that I felt right about kissing to break the bond before, but Remmo sort of felt right.

Or at least not wrong.

So… kissing it was.

“Can I kiss you?” I asked him.

Teris would’ve said no. At the beginning, we had made out a few times, but that part of our relationship ended quickly.

Remmo just blinked at me.

And then blinked again.

I scowled, spinning around and stalking away.

Screw him.

I wasn’tthatunappealing.

A hand wrapped around my wrist after a few steps, sending a warm electric current through my skin. A quick tug later, my front was pressed against Remmo’s.

One of his hands was wrapped around my waist, the other, cupping my face.

Damn, he was tall.

And big.

“Why do you smell so good?” I hissed at him. “This can’t be—”

He cut me off with a kiss.

It was just a smash of his lips on mine, but… if he was unseelie, I didn’t even know if he’d seen anyone kiss before.

Yet he didn’t pull away.

His fingers tightened on my skin, like he wasn’t ready for it to end.

So…

I did a thing.

A probably-stupid, possibly-would-regret-later, thing.
