“I have to find out about the owner. I'll ask Patience when we get back to the hotel." Excitement glitters in her expression as she strolls to the spiral staircase “Come on. Let's check out the upstairs."

She doesn't wait for a response and immediately begins ascending. Her curvy ass is suddenly in my direct line of sight and desire punches a hole in my gut.

“I love it when you get bossy,” I mutter, and it comes out huskier than I expected.

She turns halfway.

"Oh, shut up." She quips as she rolls her eyes, but I can see the slight flutter in her throat that tells me she's still thinking about yesterday.

So am I.

And I have to spend another night in bed with her and not touch her. It seems more and more impossible as time goes on.

We get back to the hotel later that afternoon and she’s still excited. She chatters the whole way back to the hotel about all her plans for the place and whips out a notebook to write down all the questions she has. When we get back to the inn, she even tells Patience about it, who luckily knows the owner.

"Old Man Clancy," she says when we ask her. "He lives out on the other side of town and he's...a character."

I raise an eyebrow. That word doesn't bode well, but I don't address it.

"Why hasn't he sold it all this time?" Ava asks.

"Who knows with Old Man Clancy? Probably just to be difficult. Or because his personality drives buyers away. Plus, have you seen the place? It's pretty beat up." She shrugs. "But for what it's worth, I don't think it's haunted."

"I don't think it is either."

Patience winks at Ava. "Well, I can do you a solid. I can try to set up a meeting with y'all if you want, but I have to warn you, Clancy is not the most pleasant individual.”

“Would you, Patience?” Ava smiles and glows brighter than the sun. “Thank you so much.”

“You’re very welcome,” Patience says back, beaming at us. We go back upstairs to find our room cleaned and comfortable. I sit as Ava continues to talk about the 'fantastic' place. I don't want her to get her hopes up, though, in case this Old Man Clancy is really as bad as they say.

‘Okay, so we have two options to offer,” I say cutting her off, as we both lounge in bed. “And both are good."

"Yes, but this last one is perfect," Ava says. "Trust me, I can feel it."

I can tell, and it's so fucking hot when she gets excited like this. I try to distract myself with more work talk. “I think there should be some moral opposition to introducing kids to a literal haunted house, no?”

“Oh, come on. You heard Patience. It's not really haunted. But even if it is, wouldn’t that make a good story for the kids?”

“Maybe,” I whisper, and then watch her face glow until I can't stand it anymore. Fuck it. Fuck my honor and whatever told me I could do this but I was clearly lying to myself. I can't stand lying in the bed like this, talking to her like we're fucking friends when my mind is filled with utter filth.

And before I know what’s happening I roll over and hover over her.

Her expression instantly morphs and her body stiffens. “What are you doing?”

I lean in and she gasps. Her eyes drop to my lips.

But rather than kiss her, I say, "There’s one thing I didn’t do last night.”

“What?”

I don't answer at first. Instead, I continue trailing down her body, stopping where my lips hover over her pussy. I watch her eyes and the way her breath flutters in her throat.

She doesn’t stop me.

Instead, she shuts her eyes and stays that way for a while. Her facial expression shifts as though she's fighting a battle with herself. Then she bites her lips and her thighs part slightly.

That’s all the invitation I need.
