I nod, finally managing to get a word out. “Yeah.”

“Good, I’ll be screaming your name from where I’m standing…” she trails off, her eyes fluttering shut for a moment before they connect with mine and she throws a wink my way.

“Is that so?” My nostrils flare, my chest pushing out slightly and all I can imagine is her on her back as I ride her whilst she is screaming my name.

“Yeah, it is,” her fingers reach for my chest, hovering before finally letting them spread across my jock protector, feeling my neck guard she drums her fingers against it. “It’s all I have wanted, to feel what it would be like for your name to repeat on my tongue until my voice is hoarse and my throat is sore fromscreaming.”

I swallow. Is sheflirtingwith me? This is new.

“You don’t know what you’re doing to me cub.”

“Then show me,” she whispers, lifting her fingers from my chest and I instantly miss it.

“Tate…”

“Knox…” she mimics me, but her tone is low, teasing and fucking sensual and all I can think about is sinking my heavy, thick cock into her, hard and fast, pounding into her in punishing thrusts.

She steps back, her eyes skimming down my body before lifting to my eyes. “Good luck, baby,” she says softly so only my ears hear it.

“Are you going to be my good luck charm, tater tot?” I smirk, and she leans forward swatting me on the arm.

“I hope so, Henderson,” she licks her lips as she steps further back, her mom and dad appearing at her side.

“Good luck, we will be cheering you all on, go Steels!” Rich shouts as the crowd begins to drum up the noise.

I give him a little salute off my head with my finger, they turn and my eyes are pinned to her, her eyes find mine one last time as she looks over her shoulder at me. My heart thrums against my chest, my stomach flipping and I feel like I am free falling until Cooper pulls me round to face him.

“It’s game time, baby.”

We all move together, our sticks all touching as the coach goes through the game plan once more, but my mind is too full of Tate.

Maybe I have read it all wrong, maybe she does want me as much as I want her.

ChapterFour

Tate

Nerves ripthrough me as I watch Knox fight off the Nashvilles, they’re playing rough, but Justin makes it his goal to do whatever he needs to stop them getting in our end. I watch as Knox darts forward as Jenkins from Nemesis slips past Justin and knocks into Cooper, flooring him. Knox helps him up and as soon as Cooper is on his feet, Jenkins gets up in Cooper’s face, pushing him into the boards and I feel my heart drop from my chest.

I know exactly where this is going as soon as Cooper’s eyes seek out mine, but then Knox’s slice over to me and that hurts the most. I feel the tears prick in my eyes at the shame that is colouring my skin; I never wanted this to get out. It was just a mistake. A dirty secret that was meant to be buried.

But secrets never stay buried.

“What the fuck?!” I scream at Jenkins who grins down at Cooper where he has just floored him. The ref’s whistle is screaming, the crowd is in uproar and our teammates are chest to chest with the Nashvilles.

Reaching down, I pull Coop up to his feet, patting him on the back.

“What is your problem you little prick?” Coop shoves Jenkins who darts forward, pushing Coop into the boards.

I rush over to where Cooper is pinned when I hear Tate’s name leave the cunt’s lips. I reach them, sliding between them and knocking Jenkins over and smirk as he crashes into the ice. Every other noise has drowned out around us and all I can hear is the blood thumping in my ears.

“What did you just say?” I grin down at him, and it takes everything in me not to lift my skate andaccidentallyslice through his fingers. Cooper is beside me as one of Jenkins’ teammates helps him up and he is soon back in Cooper’s face.

“Your sister, Tate. She is quite the good littleslut, honestly, I never expected her to be as good of a fuck as she was,” he rolls his eyes, smirking and shaking his head as if he is replaying a memory only he knows. I turn to face Cooper, but his eyes are on Tate’s and when I follow his gaze we can tell by the tears in her eyes that Jenkins isn’t lying.
