“Hey, what time is it?” Atlas asked. “I’ve gotta get out of here soon…”

“Why don’t we all call it?” I asked. “I’m exhausted too.”

“From fucking your best friend’s sister?” Rome called out.

Something came over me in that moment.

I looked at Rome. “You know what? That’s exactly why I’m tired.”

Rome jumped up and almost dropped his phone.

“What did you just say?” Joe asked me.

Jago pointed at me with both hands. “Dude… you’re my hero…”

“I didn’t say that,” I said.

I smirked.

“Well, damn,” Atlas said. “I mean, it was inevitable, right? You two living together. It was bound to happen.”

“Hold up,” Rome said as he walked closer to me. “So this guy is in the playoffs, right? And he asks you to keep an eye on his sister. So she stays with you. And you’re sleeping with her?”

“It’s not exactly that simple, but sure,” I said.

“This guy,” Rome said as he tried to put his arm around me.

I pushed Rome away. “This isn’t some college sexual conquest here.”

“If you say so,” Rome said.

“What the hell does that mean?” I asked.

“Really, Sebastian?” Rome asked. “Do I have to paint a picture?”

“Can I do it?” Jago asked.

“What?” I asked.

“I hate to be this guy, but I agree with them,” Henry said.

“You too?” I asked.

“Sebastian, you’ve got a thing for her,” Henry said. “You probably always did but fought it off. You made up excuses. Now there are none. You’re adults. You’re in close proximity. It doesn’t take a degree in space rockets to figure it out.”

I clenched my jaw tight.

“And you thought you were just fucking your best friend’s sister, huh?” Rome asked.

I pushed by Rome and walked away from all of them.

I needed to take a shower.

An ice cold shower.

They were wrong.

No matter what that voice in my head tried to say.
