To pull him into the shower with me.

For protection, and more.

Instead, I told myself I could handle this part.

I ignored the text.

And I took a shower.

A comfortable hot shower and once I dried off, I wrapped the towel around my body and wiped the fog off the mirror.

My face felt dry from the beach and breeze.

I dug around in my bag for a moisturizing face cream.

The stuff was putrid green looking, but it worked wonders.

With Seb out on the balcony, I could apply my goopy face stuff and sneak into the bedroom. Lock the door. And then wash it all off before he came to bed.

I looked like I wore a cheap, homemade Halloween mask.

I washed my hands and scooped up all my stuff.

I snuck to the bathroom door and opened it slowly.

Looking left to right, I was in the clear.

I tiptoed my way through the apartment to Seb’s bedroom, making sure my face was not able to be seen from the balcony.

At the bedroom door, I reached for the doorknob.

The door suddenly opened on its own.

Seb looked down at me.

I dropped my stuff and started to scream.

Seb put his hands out and screamed too.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

SEBASTIAN

To be fair,she screamed first.

I just followed her lead.

At the same time, I thought for a second that aliens had invaded, took my sexy April and turned her face booger green.

April jumped back, still screaming, and thrust her hands out to my chest.

She hit me pretty good, fully intending on driving me back and away from her.

Don’t ask what the hell is on her face…

“What the hell is on your face?” I asked.

Definitely not what any woman wanted to hear from a guy.
