“Not at all,” I said. “Which means it’ll be even easier to do the same to some annoying teammates.”

“You think we’re annoying?” Henry asked, clutching at his chest.

“You think we’re just teammates?” Rome asked as he stood back up. “That hurts.”

“We’re family here,” Jago said.

I looked at Atlas for a little backup.

Atlas shook his head. “I’m not touching that one.”

“You’re a big mush now,” Joe said. “Guy has a baby and look at him…”

“Speaking of which,” I said. “How is our little Juniper?”

“Kicking ass and taking names,” Atlas said.

“When is she coming home?” Henry asked.

“Soon,” Atlas said.

He walked away.

Anyone could sense his pain over his daughter.

Jago and I got cleaned up a little and did the post-game press conference.

That meant answering more questions.

I did my part, took a shower, then got out of there to go meet Andy for a beer.

He chose a place right on the beach.

No shock there.

If Andy hadn’t taken to hockey he would have been a professional surfer.

And it was no surprise he played for Miami either.

He was tall, tanned, toned, lean, and every woman’s dream guy.

He was also the greatest friend I ever had in my life.

We hugged hello and he ordered me a beer.

“Cheers to the game,” he said.

“Screw that,” I said.

“Cheers to the fight.”

I smiled. “That was fun.”

“You know you really clipped me in the lip,” he said. “There was way more blood than I needed to see. Thought I was going to have a messed up face.”

“Your face already is messed up.”

“Not a chance,” Andy said. He drew an invisible circle around his face. “You and I both know I am one good-looking guy. This is where I make my money.”
