Sabrina opened a box and tossed something toward me.

A white wrapper.

I looked down.

I almost audibly groaned.

“This is…”

“The best health bar in the world,” Sabrina said. “Like nothing out there.”

Doubt that. Does anyone really need another health bar to convince them this will be the magic thing that makes them live forever?

“Unique flavors,” Sabrina said. “A unique taste. Mixed. Delicious.”

“Unique,” I said with a nod.

“See, I want people to look at me and think they’re eating me.”

I almost started to laugh.

Sabrina was serious.

“I’m going to be the face of this,” Sabrina said. “I can already picture the commercial. Me on the beach. In the middle of a yoga session. No. Mediation? No. Yoga. I’m in a downward dog. There’s a voice talking about life, balance. Then you hear the sound of a stomach growling. Totally out of left field. It’s my stomach growling. Then the camera shows me reaching for my health bar. I take a bite. My stomach is happy. I keep doing yoga. That’s what these are for. Balance. Simplicity. I’m not selling you a way to skip a meal. I’m selling you a way to feel balanced. Happy.”

I blinked a few times.

Then I took a deep breath.

“That’s a decent idea, Sabrina,” I said. “Are you sure you want to pay me to help you?”

“Yes,” she said. “I’m not a pro. You are. Sell these, April. Here, take some with you. Explore the flavors.”

Sabrina put a couple more health bars on the table.

The one in my hand, I flipped it over and tried to read the ingredients.

It was a lot of weird stuff.

“How much per bar?” I asked.

“I’d like these to retail for ten dollars.”

“A box?”

“A bar.”

I blinked again at Sabrina.

“That a problem?” Sabrina asked.

“Let me think on this,” I said. “Let me…explore…”

“Life is about exploring,” Sabrina said. “Eat. Mediate. Find your center. Then bring these beautiful bars to market.”

I smiled and nodded.

For the next hour Sabrina and I sat together and she talked about her plans.
