It wasn’t the first time I attended one these events, but it was the first time I was attending with a woman I was supposedly married to, nonetheless. Once we arrived at the dock on the estate, I grabbed Cove’s leash, and guided her through the island up to the front door.

The guard at the entrance cleared our invites before lifting the red velvet rope and allowing us inside.

The manor was packed with people, making it hard for us to even get by without having to wait a few seconds for the crowds to separate. The farther I led us into the party, the worse our surroundings became. The music pounded through the speakers, vibrating to my core as I tried to make our way over to the back doors.

The place was obviously exceeding capacity, filled to the brim. Everyone was dressed to the nines. Beautiful people just getting their night started, moving to the beat of the music blaring above the crowds. It was quite a presentation—everything from the flashing lights to the neon strobes, strumming around every corner. There were plush couches along the perimeter with tables stacked with open bottles of champagne and liquor while drugs flowed through their obviously fucked-up bodies.

I had no interest in participating in this part of the party.

I didn’t give a fuck about any of it. I was only there for one thing, and we’d yet to arrive to our final destination. This wasn’t the main event. This was just a cover-up for what was behind door number two and possibly three and four. My enemies needed to know I was there. It was all a show.

Especially for what was still to come.

I proceeded on our descent, and I didn’t have to turn around to be aware that Cove was taking it all in as if she was Alice in Wonderland, following the rabbit down the hole.

A long, narrow hallway was nearly pitch black, leading to another door. Another dimension.

Another fucking world.

As soon as the double doors opened, I swear I could feel the demons oozing out, hovering around us. Waiting to drag us under. They called this place Sin. The rules were anything goes.

Sex.

Drugs.

Fucking murder—these black walls had seen it all.

This was where the elite partied since they could get away with anything.

You name it, it was there.

Anonymity was the key purpose of this party. From the second we passed the threshold into Sin it was Sodom and Gomorrah.

Cove loudly gasped, realizing I’d just led her into…

A BDSM sex club.

Fifteen

Cove

A shudder ran through me. I was fully aware Jace was testing my restraint. I’d never seen anything like this in my entire life, looking around the opulent room of women walking, barely dressed in lingerie. In the grand scheme of things, I was dressed pretty modestly compared to them.

Some of the people were on leashes like I was. Others were by themselves, searching for pleasure, pain; what the hell did I know? I had no experience in this environment, yet still I was utterly captivated by it.

What would happen next? Where were we going? What would I see?

Question after question once again plagued my mind on an endless stream of what the fuck was happening. The woman who was on a cross grabbed my attention first. She was being whipped by a man with what appeared to be some sort of leather whip. There were tassels on the end of them, and every time it hit her sensitive flesh, she loudly moaned, getting off on it.

I’d never seen anything like it before, but I wasn’t completely naive. I knew places like this existed, yet I never thought I’d be in one. To be there with my best friend’s older brother wasn’t anything I could have ever predicted. It wasn’t entirely terrible, though. If anything, it was the opposite.

Something about being there with Jace Beckham had my thighs clenching with each stride I stepped. Jace strode around as if he owned the damn place. The confidence he exuded, and the way women couldn’t take their greedy stares off him wasn’t lost on me.

The sad part was, I was jealous of the way they were eyeing him with no shame. They were blatant about it. Jace didn’t seem bothered by how both men and women stared at me. He was indifferent toward the whole thing almost like this was normal for him. Which only made me consider how many times he’d attended an event like this and what he participated in.

Was this his lifestyle? Did he whip women too?

My attention shifted toward the women on their knees as their significant other talked to the people around them as if she wasn’t there waiting on his next command like a dog.

There was so much I wanted to say.

To scream.

To know…

Translucent lighting was everywhere. Half-naked women danced on poles set up in several places around the open room, food laid on the bare skin of women and men, and servers walked around topless wearing nothing but G-strings. However, everyone was wearing a mask, so you couldn’t see their faces.
