We’d known each other for a week.

The only thing he needed to do was give me moral support and let me whine.

He let out a quiet chuckle, but for some reason, it wasn’t entirely a happy sound. “I know. I’m not saying anything ridiculous.”

Was he hurt that I wasn’t asking to move in?

Was it something else?

“But I wouldn’t say no to some help narrowing down apartments that are either close to you or close to Ian.” Looking down at the map online with all the highlighted dots, I sighed. “But just not too close because I’m not sure he wants me living below him.”

That might be too much.

Cohen laughed. “No, he seemed more like the type to want you above him.”

Snorting, I shook my head. “Naughty Dom.”

“I’m just keeping up with you two. Ian seemed to be full of dirty thoughts earlier and you’re no better.” The teasing laughter in his voice had me grinning…and reaching down to adjust my hard-on.

Just hearing his voice made me hard, but hearing him talk about Ian made me ache.

“I’m the sweet pup around here. I don’t know what you’re talking about.” And if Ian wanted to be little tonight, it looked like the naughty bits were staying tucked away for the time being.

“Bullshit.” The amusement in his voice had me smiling. “But for now, you keep telling yourself how sweet and innocent you are. We can have a discussion on that later.”

I was looking forward to it.

“I’m sure you’ll be very thorough with your discussion, Sir.” Doing my best to ignore what he was doing to my body, I sighed as I looked at the time again. “But as much as I’d love to hear what highlights you had in mind for that discussion, if I’m going to bring Ian lunch, I need to leave soon.”

“Yes, time to be responsible.” His sigh said being naughty would’ve been more fun. “Alright, I’ll see you later. Don’t worry about the apartment stuff. We’ll find some good options for you and we’ll have a talk with Ian to see how much space he thinks would be a good idea.”

Yes, that was probably important.

“No assumptions. Yes.” And no assumptions with my Dom either, so he and I were going to have a talk as well…after cookies, of course.

Priorities were important.

“I ran the gauntlet for you.” Quickly closing the door behind me, I let out a breath as Ian tried not to laugh. “I deserve a kick-ass reward.”

“What is it with you two and bribes?” As Ian shook his head, I was left wondering what bribe he’d given Cohen and what the naughty Dom had done to begin with.

“Rewards are important.” Holding up the bags, proud that I’d managed to keep the hamburgers I’d grabbed for us, I grinned. “I brought lunch.”

“I’m almost skeptical about what you had to do to make it in here in one piece.” Ian frowned at the door, shaking his head. “Did they actually let you walk through without mobbing you? I can already smell the fries.”

I might’ve been able to make it unscathed, but I wasn’t going to lie. “I called Preston, and he distracted most of them.”

Ian sighed, pushing away from the desk and coming over to the door. “I’m supposed to talk to you about what you’re comfortable telling them.”

Kissing his head, I wrapped one arm around him as I tried not to spill our drinks. “Cohen called me. I think he feels bad that he didn’t have this discussion the other night.”

Ian’s cheeks pinked as he shifted to study my chest like he’d never seen a T-shirt. “Um, Cohen and I were talking and…well, and I think we were flirting?”

Cohen wasn’t exactly subtle, so they’d definitely been flirting, but since it seemed to make Ian nervous, I took his confession seriously. “I’m glad. I want you two to be comfortable around each other when I’m not around.”

Because if they couldn’t function without me, we’d be a very lopsided trio.

Ian peeked up at me through his lashes and let out a breath. “I thought you’d be okay with it, but after we got off the phone, I started to…well, obsess?”

Trying not to laugh, I kissed his forehead and nodded toward a small table in the corner away from the desk he was using. “Let’s sit down and we’ll work on your worries.”

Taking the drink tray from my hand, he stepped away and went over to the table. “Cohen said he was going to talk to you about dinner tonight?”

Since it was obviously taking center stage in Ian’s mind, I tackled it head-on as I set the bag down and started getting out the food. “Yes, he said he wanted to give you a chance to relax and be little tonight, but if you’re worried about how he was describing it, he wasn’t stressed.”
