Hannah makes a sexy sound. “You feel so good.”

“And you feel like heaven on earth. You’re a drug to me, Hannah. My addiction. Everything you do, everything you are, every inch of you, it’s all perfect. I’m crazy about you. I can’t get enough. I . . . I” No, no, no, Peter. Stop. Not yet. You’ll say it to her in person. That’s what you’ve promised yourself. I inhale a deep breath. “I . . . I . . . I’m coming.” I close my eyes as warm liquid spurts out of me and onto my hand, and momentarily lose myself to bliss. As I come, I’m vaguely aware of Hannah making a strangled sound. A moment later, when I open my eyes, the buzzing sound is at a fever pitch and Hannah’s face is contorted. Her eyes are closed. Her breathing labored. She whimpers. Shudders. Groans. And finally, quite obviously, has an orgasm that makes my entire body feel electrified at the sight.

“Holy fuck,” I murmur as Hannah rides whatever pleasure she’s feeling. “Get it, baby.”

Finally, Hannah opens her eyes and smiles. The buzzing sound stops. “Mission accomplished,” she declares. “You popped my cherry like a boss.”

“And you popped mine like a goddess. Wow, wow, wow. That was barely tolerable to the extreme.”

Hannah laughs. “I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do it, but once we got going, I totally forgot to feel embarrassed and just went with it.”

“You were amazing. No, schmamazing.”

“So were you. Thank you for taking the lead.”

“I’m not sure I did. You seemed pretty damned confident.”

“I did?”

“Hell yeah.”

Hannah smirks. “You bring out my wild side. Always have. Since night one in Vegas.”

“Lucky me. I’m a big fan of your wild side.”

She bats her eyelashes. “I can’t wait to do this with you in person.”

“In three long weeks.”

“God, that feels especially long now.”

“Doesn’t it? Unbearably long.”

Hannah bites her lip seductively. “In the meantime, maybe we could do this again.”

“Any time. Name it. Count me in.”

She giggles. “How about tomorrow night?”

A huge smile unfurls across my face. “It’s a date.”

HANNAH

As I drive slowly along the arrivals area at Sea-Tac, I scan the masses of travelers on the curb for any sign of my boyfriend. Henn offered to grab an Uber to my place, but I wouldn’t hear of it. This is going to be a lightning-fast visit to Seattle for Henn—he’ll only be here for about twenty-four hours—so I want to be with him every possible second.

There he is.

Emerging from a pair of sliding doors about twenty yards ahead of me with a computer bag in one hand and a garment bag in the other. Squealing with glee, I maneuver my car to the curb and wave my free hand frantically when I’ve managed to squeeze into a spot. When Henn’s searching eyes lock onto mine, a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon spreads across his handsome face.

These past weeks apart, we’ve talked every day. Grown closer and closer. And I’ve known for quite some time, through it all, that I’m in love with him. But now that Henn and I are finally in the same place again, breathing the same air, the certainty of my love is bursting out of my skin. In fact, looking at Henn’s beaming smile now, as he gallops toward my waiting car, there’s zero doubt the little blue birdie that is my soul has found its forever birdhouse. The man bounding to my car is the great love of my life. My soulmate. My heart’s forever home. Indubitably.

Henn swings open the door and shouts at the top of his lungs, “I love you, Hannah Milliken!”

I laugh. “I love you, too, Peter Hennessey.” Oh well. I was planning to say those magic words to Henn back at my apartment. In fact, I’ve got a little surprise waiting for him there that was meant to be the “big reveal” of my feelings for him. Finally, I thought, I’ll be the one to give Henny a grand gesture! But the sweet man’s beat me to the punch.

Laughing like a little kid, Henn tumbles into my passenger seat, places his bags in my backseat, grabs my face, and kisses me. Excitement, love, elation. That’s the nature of the electrifying energy coursing between our swirling tongues. We’re in love, and we’ve finally said it out loud. Truly, I can’t remember a more romantic, perfect moment in my entire life.

A loud horn sounds behind my car, jolting us from our amazing kiss.

“Take a chill pill, dude,” Henn mutters. Laughing, he secures his seatbelt. “Can’t he see we’re having a once-in-a-lifetime moment here? Jeez.”

“Right? How is it not obvious to him we’re busy pummeling the shit out of our gobs?”

Henn snort-laughs. “Oh my god. I’ve missed you so much. I love you so much.”

“I love you so much, too.”
