She was embarrassed after all. Well who would have guessed? He couldn’t prevent the amusement from creeping into his voice. “Or waddled out, I imagine, if I know Nix-”

“Don’t be so crude-” she began, but she didn’t walk away. She stood in front of him, and glanced down at his beer. It was full but he raised it to his lips and took a swig, staring straight back at her. Was she noticing the dark circles under his eyes, his messy hair, his untrimmed stubble? He’d looked a lot better when she’d first met him in the shop, when she’d grabbed him by the lapels of his leather jacket and pulled him in for a kiss. When they had both been floored by the sudden warmth and attraction that had engulfed them both.

“Nix introduced me to Ash,” she said quietly.

His face remaining impassive, he nodded slowly. He took another swig. “I knew he would, Vixen.”

She frowned. “You… knew? When you passed me to Nix, you knew? They would both…?”

“Yeah.” Lyle shrugged.

“And, you aren’t bothered by that?”

He frowned. “Bothered?”

“I don't know, jealous? Angry? Disappointed? Disgusted?” she asked quietly, not daring to look at him now, eyes on the floor.

Ah, so that was it after all. She had been fierce and fiery and sure and confident. And now she was suddenly unsure.

A flood of feeling came over Lyle. The first feeling for another person, a surge of empathy. He wanted to soothe her, to make it better. He reached a warm, rough hand under her chin, lifting it to meet his gaze. Trying to be tender.

“Penny, what right do I have to feel any of those things? I’m pleased you got what you wanted.”

She huffed. “I almost want you to be jealous.”

He looked at her.

“I came for you, I wanted you, what happened in the ice cream shop… with you…” She laughed and pulled away from his hand. “Nevermind, yes I got what I came for, I had fun. I bet you have had plenty of women, I’m just one of a whole long line, you wouldn't be jealous or have any kind of feelings toward me. I bet you don’t even remember what happened in the ice cream parlor-”

He grabbed her jaw, harder this time, forcing her face in front of his. “You are the only woman I remember being with, Penny,” he whispered into her hair. “Let me spell it out for you. I remember what happened in the ice cream parlor. Penny, I was stone cold sober and I felt it, too. Don’t give me this bullshit, yes, I’ve had lots of women, but you are the only woman I remember being with. I have thought of that moment every night since then, how you grabbed me, your urgency, your hunger, fuck me Penny. Your tits, oh fuck do I dream about your tits Penny-” Lyle looked down at her lips now, then his eyes dropped to her boobs.

“You… remember?” came her breathy response.

“I remember… I want… Penny, you think I’m not fucking jealous Nix and Ash got to play with you? Got to sink their undeserving dicks into your sweet, juicy-”

“Lyle!” she scolded, but her eyelids fluttered closed. She was melting. He knew the signs. He felt his cock stirring in his jeans.

“You think I’m not ashamed and embarrassed I couldn’t rail you into tomorrow and put my baby in your belly the other night?”

She collapsed forward into his chest, her knees buckling. Fucking right, baby girl, I’m your Daddy.

“You think I don’t hate myself for drinking too much and not being the man you wanted last night?” His lips were over her throat now.

“I am fucking mad, I fucking loathe it, Penny, I’m simmering with fucking angry, hateful thoughts because I wanted you, Penny, so many nights, I fucking dreamed of you, and you came to me, but last night I couldn’t be the man you needed-”

“Lyle, oh, God, Lyle-”

“But fuck, you aren’t theirs now, Penny, don’t feel like you’ve been claimed by them, you haven’t been, you’re a free woman, free to open your legs for me-”

“Lyle, that’s so-”

“Ash and Nix aren’t here right now but I am, I’m here, Penny, and I’m ready, and I’m fucking willing-”

He spun her round. Her hands hit the bar. “Lyle! We’re in the bar- we can’t… not here…” she began.

His bottle of beer spilled. Fuck, panic seized him, she’d notice that it was not the brown, fizzy liquid that was supposed to be in his beer bottle. But Lyle’s hands flipped her skirt up and pulled down her panties with a yank and it seemed she forgot all about the beer bottle. The bar stool scraped as he stood and a groan escaped his own mouth. Fuck, he couldn’t remember feeling this urgency before. Well, apart from one time, with her, in the fucking ice cream parlor…. She rested her head on her hands on the bar, stepped out of her panties and kicked them away. Good little Vixen, Penny, he thought. His cock was throbbing. The heat pooling within him.

Lyle stood, squared up to her from behind, his boots kicking her legs out.
