“Of course, Beautiful,” he smiles. “Just thinking how badly I need you.”

He presses his body against mine and I can feel his hard-on through his pants. A new combination of emotions strikes me. Excitement. Confusion. Sadness. I want to feel him deep inside me, but I also want to press him to tell me what he was really thinking. The hope of us ever being together is fading as reality sinks in.

Just live in the moment, Ysenia.I remind myself.

Tomorrow isn’t promised. We both live our own lives, in the opposite corners of the world. Fate has brought us together and given me the chance to enjoy time with the man of my dreams. I need to just focus on the now and not worry about the future.

“I’m yours. How do you want me?” I grin.

Chapter Fourteen

Miguel

Hours of fun with Ysenia just wasn’t enough. I don’t think I could ever get enough of her in any sense. I wanted to spend the rest of my trip locked away with her in my hotel room. However, I allowed Ysenia to convince me to go meet up with Jenna and my mom. Jenna had called and texted non-stop since I left the country club. Anytime I attempted to reply or answer to cuss Jenna out, Ysenia talked me out of it.

Even though she was completely crushed by Jenna, Ysenia still protected her. It was mind-boggling and frustrated me to no end. Ysenia didn’t speak one bad word about Jenna. In fact, she just kept saying how I needed to make amends with Jenna since she was family.

I disagree wholeheartedly, yet, here I am, standing in front of my mom’s front door. Anger is coursing through me. Every red flag and warning alarm is blaring. I know this is a horrible idea; however, this was what Ysenia wanted so here I am.

The front door opens, scaring me half to death and revealing Hank. He looks a lot older than the last time I saw him. A head full of gray hair; no doubt caused because of being married to my mother. He’s wearing a red Polo, khaki shorts, and brown loafers. He looks like he just got off a yacht.

“Hey, Miguel,” he smiles.

“Hey, Hank,” I smile.

He’s not the enemy. As much as I’ve always wanted to hate the man, I can’t. He didn’t know my mom was married at the time of their great affair and he’s always been nice to me.

“How have you been?” I ask.

“I’ve been well. Come on in.” He steps to the side. I walk in and he closes the door quietly behind us.

It’s the first time I’ve been inside my childhood home in years. It’s a beautiful, spacious, nicely-decorated house; however, it is a dungeon to me. I don’t think I’ll ever walk into this house and feel welcomed. It’ll always be the house that destroyed my family and life.

“Your mom and Jenna are in the kitchen talking. Want to grab a drink before we go deal with…that?” he sighs heavily.

“Hell yes,” I mutter and he chuckles.

“Let’s hurry before they find us.” He quickly heads down the hallway. I follow him in silence.

The house is nothing like it was when I was growing up. Large family photos are decorating the walls. Crosses are above the doorways. The house smells of flowers. A scent my father absolutely despised.

A smirk tugs at my lips.

My mother is such a spiteful–

“Here we are,” Hank says, opening a door.

We walk inside and the smell of pipe tobacco hits me. Not the best smell but I suppose it beats the smell of cigarettes and cigars.

“Sorry, if the smell bothers you. This is the only place I can smoke,” he confesses, closing the door.

“No worries. I understand.”

“So what’s your poison?”

“Anything you got. I’m grateful for whatever,” I reply, looking around the room.

Sports memorabilia is all over the place and in glass cases like a museum. Wall-to-ceiling bookshelves line two of the walls. In the center of the room are two black leather recliners and a leather sofa.
