To my surprise, she suddenly let’s go of me and steps back.Shit.Is she running away again? I can't let that happen. A whirlwind of thoughts shakes my head, producing a strange fear in my heart that I will forever lose her if nothing happens tonight. I grab her wrists and hold them tight. It's a scary thought that I may lose my chance of revenge, but I'm more worried about not having her.

"Are you playing with me?" My disappointment becomes clearer through my raspy voice. "Is it funny that I desire you?"

Sasha looks into my eyes before shaking her head. Her shiny eyes become watery, and her lips thin out as she presses them tightly against each other. A tear rolls down from one of her eyes. Her arms tremble more while she looks around.Could it be?Sasha is afraid somebody will harm me for wanting her.

She may be reluctant to give herself to me, but she is ready to protect me. A strange joy suddenly washes the devious thoughts in my head and relaxes my heart. Stop. Why am I suddenly reminded of the calmness and peace of being with somebody who loves and protects me? The last time I felt this way was when my mother hugged me before my world became vengeful.

Sasha. I clench my hands into fists – squeezing back the hatred I have for who she is. I can't let her innocence and naivete sway me. I have to use them. They are a dangerous combination – for her. It can lead her straight to the trap I created for Xerxes and her.

“What are you afraid of, Sasha?”

Another tear rolls down her cheek. She gathers her courage to look at me with her misty eyes. "I'm afraid you'll hate me after this night."

"Hate you?" I pull her close and hug her. Sasha hesitates a little but doesn't resist. I corrupt her innocence with a lingering passionate kiss until her reply becomes as wild. Sasha pulls away as we need to breathe. "Stay with me," I whisper when I feel her hands slip from my shirt. "I can never hate you."

“But, Ethan. . .”

I erase her hesitation with another kiss. When I pause for a moment, her breath from her sigh blows into my mouth. And when I kiss her again, she is no longer hesitant but has submitted to her impulse.Hate her after this night? That will never happen.

I already hate her.

Chapter Five

Sasha

Ethan pulls me close as soon as we enter the house. I smile when he leans and kisses me again. My heart hasn't stopped dancing since I heard him say, "I can never hate you."

“Ethan,” I whisper as we pull away from our kiss. I bite my lower lip to stop myself from kissing him. Every time Ethan smiles, I want to seal his lips with a kiss. But he sees through me and plants a quick kiss on my lips.

"Let's trash the place," he says while pushing me to the couch. I hold back from gulping to hide my hesitation. Ethan leans closer, subtly forcing me to retreat, and ends up almost lying. He chuckles when I put my hands on his chest to stop him. "Have some rest. I'll whip us up some fish and chips. Let's make this a movie date."

Before I can answer, Ethan runs to the kitchen and starts checking the fridge.Fish and chips plus a movie night.Does he know? Every Friday, I pretend to be on a date in my room. I put on a romantic film and enjoy some fish and chips. I shake my head. Of course, Ethan wouldn’t know. He may be Russian, but he grew up here. There’s no way he knew me before I came here.

I suck my cheeks to control my smile. Why is it that Ethan knows me so well?Destiny?I'm new to romance but a sucker for fated love. I can't stop thinking that Ethan is the one destined for me.

We only know each other for less than a day, but my life is already a rollercoaster because of him. He scared me, made me suspicious of him, got me angry and jealous, kissed me, and had me running away and back to his arms all in a day. Hearing the news about my possible marriage – or hostage – to a Bratva family shook me with terror. I didn’t know what to do. Ethan appeared, and everything became okay. Now, I don’t feel any fear. Instead, I feel safer.

My father has always offered me safety since I was born, but his protection isn't for me to enjoy my life. It is for me to survive the world where I'm born. With Ethan, I feel safe because – for the first time – I am enjoying my life.Somebody will offer you love.I don't know about love, but if Ethan gives me more of this moment, I will follow Uncle Vigo's suggestion. I will make him love me. And I will love him as much – like he's the only one left for me.

I move to the other side of the couch, which has a better view of the kitchen. Ethan looks in my direction and raises a pack of fish fillets and a bag of French fries. I let go of a short laugh. The weather may be nasty, but destiny is in my fantasy. Who would think Professor. Mallows’s villa would have what would make this day perfect?

Ethan moves around the kitchen like he knows where every corner is. It's as if he has been using the kitchen for a long time. And almost everything he needs for the dish is readily available in the cupboard. I curve my eyebrows and ask, "Isn't this Professor. Mallows’s villa?”

He stops breading the filleted fish and remains silent. I panic, thinking I appear doubtful of him. Ethan's lips twitch down before he forces a smile. "I sometimes work as an errand boy for the couple." When I appear unconvinced, he explains that he can't object to the Mallows's request because he's indebted to them. No one wanted to trust Ethan or hire him for any job because of his criminal record. The couple overlooked the rules of the college and still hired him as a guard.

Guilt starts to crawl back into my heart. Ethan has to go through a lot to be accepted and have a stable job, but here I am, endangering his work and life. Terror suddenly strikes me when Dmitri Fador’s name crosses my mind. Uncle Vigo said that I should go and find love. But if the Fador side has set eyes on me, they will do everything to get me – even if it means killing my lover.

I look at Ethan. He places the last piece of fish on the plate, turns off the stove, and walks to me with the food. “Don’t,” he tells me while hurrying next to my side. Ethan kisses me, plunging all my hesitation out of my head. “Don’t ever think about changing your mind.”

"But you can get in trouble for this." More trouble than he can imagine.

"Don't worry about it. Let's enjoy the night, okay?" Ethan flashes a cheeky smile and whispers, "I'll bring trouble to you."

I don't know what got into me, but his smile mesmerized me – so much that I held on to him and initiated the next kiss. I pause upon realizing what I did. Ethan holds the back of my head and slightly chokes my throat with his other hand. He looks into my eyes for a while; his stare is different. Ethan appears reluctant but fights it. I gasp when he cages my mouth with his and intensifies the kiss. His tongue pushes into my mouth and locks with my tongue. I swirl mine around his, trying to hold on to it as it explores my mouth.

Ethan lowers his hand from my head to my waist. He wraps it tight and swiftly pulls me to his lap. I straddle his lap by instinct. He stops for us to breathe and smiles before kissing torridly. My body slowly reacts differently to his kisses. The hair on my skin rises as every heat from his lips tickles me. I gasp when I feel his cock twitch under his bulge, reminding me that my pussy is on top of him.
