“Fucking hell, can you save the porn shit for when I’m not here?” Simon huffs, and I yank on Lycus’s hair, keeping him there with a grunt as I wink at Simon.

“Sure. Elias, do you want me to tell you about the time Simon got into the Freshno wine—”

“Kiss away!” Simon screams, practically throwing himself at the wolf and covering his ears, making me laugh. Turning back to Lycus, I kiss his captive lips once more before releasing him.

“Now I definitely want to know.” Elias smirks at Simon.

“Do not, or I will tell them about the time with the frisbee,” Simon hisses at me, flashing fangs.

I narrow my eyes. “You wouldn’t dare.”

“Try me.” He smirks.

“Children,” Conall admonishes, but he’s grinning.

We both turn to him, wearing matching expressions of ire for his involvement, and he holds up his hands and backs away. “I’m starting to learn not to get between you.”

“Smart, that one.” Simon laughs, and we share a grin.

“So, why are you here?” I ask, changing the topic. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to see you.”

“Well, Nathair said you need us for something. He’s going to discuss it with us, and then I thought we could have a movie night or something and just hang, you know? Sorry, that sounds lame.”

Elias clutches his neck possessively, offering him comfort.

I reach over and hold his hand. “I would love that. A lot has been going on, and a night off sounds incredible. What do you guys think?”

“I get to pick the movie!” Reve calls, and they all frown.

“No, Simon does, he’s the guest,” I murmur and then share a look with him.

“Blade?” we both say at the same time, and this time they all groan, making us laugh.

CHAPTERFORTY-SIX

ALTHEA

Osis and Azul put together some nachos and snacks, and after we demolish them, Nathair appears. For a moment, he eyes the wolf and then he sits down heavily, scrubbing his face. “Sorry.”

I look behind him and frown. “Where is Zale?”

He looks at me, and something flashes across his eyes. “He’ll be by soon,” is all he says, and then he smiles at Simon. “It’s nice to see you again, Simon, and nice to meet you, Elias.”

“Sure thing, vamp man.” Simon fist-bumps him. “So what do you need?”

“We need you and Elias to attend the ball we are hosting.” Simon cocks his head to the side, and Nathair smiles and dives into what’s happening. When he’s done, Simon sits back. “I know you are part of your old court, but I think we need all the help we can get and the bodies to go with it. I understand if you can’t.”

“If I were to stand with you, it would be treason, and it would be within my court’s rights to kick me out or worse,” Simon replies, but his tone is almost conversational. He sighs and looks at Elias, taking his hand. “But if they knew I was in love with a wolf, they would kill me anyway, so fuck it. Let’s do it.”

“Simon,” I start, but he smiles at me.

“You are my family, Althea. I will do anything for you, and you know that. Without you, the court isn’t my home. Where you go, I go. I will always stand with you.” He takes my hand again, and I hold his.

“We won’t let them hurt you,” I promise.

He smirks. “I know.”

Elias chimes in then, leaning closer. “Nor will my wolves. They have accepted Simon. I have faced many challenges, and so has he, and we have won. They are loyal to us now and understand our mating. If you will have more monsters of the night, then I will bring my pack, and we will create a truce between your court and them.”
