Page 11 of Finding Her Heart

Her arousal permeated his senses, and it was all he could do to keep from going into some kind of sexual frenzy, the likes of which he’d never known before. He lowered his head.

“I don’t like oral,” she said shakily.

“Then no one’s ever done it right for you,” he said looking up from between her legs.

He began to make a meal of her, feasting on her pussy and drawing out her honey to coat his tongue, mouth, and chin.

Harper’s body went stiff; she bowed her body, thrusting her sex up into his face, before she began to tremble and shake, crying out his name as her orgasm washed over her. He lowered her back to the bed.

“I’m clean,” said Spence.

“Me, too, and I’m on birth control. Come fuck me, Spence. I need you.”

“You are the most beautiful thing in the world,” he murmured softly as he made a home for himself back between her legs.

He grasped her thighs, moving them up so that her legs were wrapped around him, and pushed his dick in up to its hilt in one long, hard pass, joining them together in a way that felt as if they’d been together for years. Her pussy spasmed around him as he kissed her and drew back, before kissing her again and surging back in. Over and over, he thrust in and out until they were in perfect rhythm until he couldn’t hold out any longer. With a final, brutal thrust, he pushed her over the edge into an abyss of sensual and sexual feelings.

When she climaxed a second time, he was lodged deep inside her and her orgasm brought about his own. Pleasure poured through him as he emptied his seed into her. Collapsing on top of her, he was surrounded by her silken warmth.

Sated and truly happy for the first time, he realized, in years, he rolled from her, wrapping her in his embrace to keep her close. He needed to find Dulcie’s killer if Harper was ever going to find peace and solace without her sister. For one fleeting moment he wished they could stay this way forever, but he knew it wasn’t to be.

There was no noise or light that woke her, just a restful night’s sleep and Spence’s warm body pressed to hers. His arms tightened around her—not a true hug but enough for her to know he was there. Of course, she’d known he was there. His hard cock was pressed against her. She smiled because they’d made love on and off all night.

Whoa! When did I start thinking about sex as making love rather than fucking. Dulcie…and then it hit her. Dulcie would never do anything anymore.

“It’s all right, sweetheart, you’re entitled to find pleasure and happiness when you can and still be angry and grieving. Those feelings aren’t mutually exclusive,” he whispered as he kissed her shoulder.

“Who’d have thought the big, tough World Champion Roper would be able to talk about feelings.”

He chuckled. “Why don’t we have some breakfast, grab your truck, and then we can head out to your place.”

“What about the investigation?”

“My team is en route and is already doing background checks.”

Harper stiffened and tried to move away, but he refused to release her, only tightened his arms a bit more. “You’re what? My sister was the victim. Why do you need to do a background check on her?”

“Because I don’t know the first thing about her. I’m hoping you can fill in some of the blanks. We need to know who might possibly have had a motive to kill her.”

She forced her body to relax. “I’m sorry; of course, you have to know about her. I’ll answer anything you want. I’m just… just…”

“I understand. I could have put that better or explained, but I promise we’re doing everything we can.”

“If your team is coming…”

“They’ll be here later today.”

“Then why not stay here?”

“Because I want to talk to you about Dulcie, about who she was—not the routine stuff that we can uncover, but who she was as a person. She was your sister. My guess is you knew her better than anyone.”

“I suppose. I mean we were close in some ways, and in others we were miles apart. Dulcie always wanted the big fairytale wedding. She didn’t get one. She so wanted me to get married so she could plan it.”

“What about you? Don’t all women want the big romantic proposal and a lavish wedding and a huge party?”

“Hell no. I hate planning shit like that. Me? I’d just as soon invite my friends for a backyard BBQ and then surprise them that it’s a wedding. In all honesty, I think I’d miss having Dulcie there. It would make me sad that she wasn’t.”
