We share a laugh together before mine turns into a gasp as he pulls out of me. He strokes my cheek with the palm of his hand, smiling at me.
“Keep your legs wrapped around me,” he instructs.
He stands from the table, holding me as we make our way out of the kitchen. It feels like I’m flying as he grips me tighter, heading to my bedroom. We get inside and shut the door behind us.
Carefully, he lays me down on the bed before settling down by my side. Ris plants a kiss on my forehead, then pulls me close.
I drape a leg over him and bring my head to rest on his shoulder. He lets out a heavy sigh, chuckling right after.
“What is it?” I ask playfully.
“That was the best sex I’ve ever had in my fucking life,” he remarks.
As he continues giggling, I feel his chest rise and fall with each short breath.
“Thank you Ris,” I whisper. “For loving me like I never left in the first place.”
“You don’t need to thank me for that, Sienna. It was always you, that’s why I never gave up hope that we’d see each other again one day.”
“I admire you for that,” I tell him, kissing his chest.
“Sienna…” he mutters, causing me to look at him.
“Yes?”
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you ever since we reunited.”
We look at each other longingly, as if out of fear that should either one of us look away, we’d lose each other again.
“Ask me anything, I’m here now and I’m never letting you get away from me again.”
His mouth coils up into a beautiful smile, hypnotizing me.
“Good because that runs in line with my question.”
His face becomes still, lingering on me before his mouth opens again.
“Sienna… will you be my mate for life?”
Oh my god…
I feel my heartbeat suddenly spike with joy. A tear wells in my eye before cascading down my face and falling onto Ris’ chest. I bite my lower lip, seeing his eyes linger on me for the answer, though I suspect it’s obvious.
“Yes, yes, a hundred times yes in any lifetime with you,” I reply with a shaky voice before bursting into tears.
He tightens his grip around me, pulling me close for a kiss. Then, using his hands, he wipes away my tears, planning a kiss right beneath my eyes.
“Do you know how long I’ve waited to hear you say those words?” he asks, shedding a tear of his own.
“Too long from the looks of it,” I laugh.
I press my face into his, snuggling our noses together. In that moment, I feel completely untouchable by the rest of the world, laying my head back down on his shoulder.
“You’ve made me the happiest woman on Protheka.”
“Just wait until the wedding ceremony, I’m going to give you the best day of your life.”
