My eyes remain glued to my mate, who blushes and tries to ignore everyone looking up at us. Our guests take their seats before Shonak continues.

“So that your union be strengthened by The Mother of The Thirteen, I ask you, Audris and Sienna, have you come here to enter marriage through freedom of choice and without coercion?”

“I have,” we reply.

“Are you prepared to follow each other through this path, to love and honor one another for as long as you live?”

“I am.”

“I am.”

“Since it is your intention to enter marriage, I ask you to join hands and declare consent before The Mother of The Thirteen.”

“I promise to be faithful in both good times and bad, and in sickness, and in health. I pledge to honor you for all the days in my life.”

I stand proud, listening as Sienna repeats the vow to me.

“I pledge to you my life, in all there its living and its death,” I declare before she does the same.

“My mouth is mine, my mind is mine, my hands are mine, as is the rest of me, except for my heart. That is yours.”

“Do you, Audris, take Sienna as your lifelong wife and mate?”

“I do.”

“Do you, Sienna, take Audris to be your lifelong husband and mate?”

“I do.”

“May the best man make his approach with the rings?”

The crowd looks to the start of the aisle, where Ezra makes his appearance. He wears a matte blue suit, taking big strides as he carries a ring pillow. The crowd smiles and waves at him, with encouragement and praises coming from everyone.

Ezra extends the pillow, allowing me to remove the golden rings that sit upon it.

“Thank you,” I beam.

Ezra stands to the side as I return to my wife. Together, we slip each other’s ring onto our fingers.

“By the power granted unto me by The Mother, you may now kiss the bride!”

The guests erupt into a thunderous ovation, rising to their feet. I wrap my arms around Sienna, pulling her closer by the waist. Our lips meet in a passionate kiss, igniting further cheers and whistles from the guests.

“I love you,” whispers Sienna.

“I love you too. This is just the start of our new life together.”

SIENNA

I’m unable to keep my eyes off of Ris at the reception inside his family home. If one didn’t know me, they probably would think of me as some sort of creep. Ris turns, catching me admiring him.

“Do you fancy me or something?” he chuckles.

“I've got an idea,” I tell him. “Maybe you should wear this type of attire at your performances.”

“Do you think so?” he replies, checking himself out in a mirror next to us.
