“It’s in there. I’ll just have to work extra hard at finding and fixing it, won’t I?” he asks but I don’t answer.

“Well, see ya! You can put me down now,” I tell him when he gets to the entrance of the park but he ignores me.

“You’re not going anywhere except home with me. But before we leave, I have a little surprise for you,” he says matter-of-factly. His tone grates on my nerves.

“I’m not going anywhere with you. I’m moving back to New York and I’ll be living with Bailee,” I tell him in the best snippy tone I can muster.

“Raine, baby. Don’t fucking test my patience. You’re coming with me, even if I have to drag you kicking and screaming,” he tells me with his bitch face on. I wiggle in his arms until he puts me down and I stand there glaring at him.

“Excuse me but I can do whatever the hell I want. You’re not the boss of me, dickhead!”

“We’ve been over this already,” he says in a bored tone. “I have no qualms of throwing you over my shoulder and walking away with you.”

Argh! I’ll have to do what he wants because I don’t want him to manhandle me anymore since my whole-body aches. From what happened just now and last night. I wanted it just now though but I think I went a little overboard with how much I goaded him to go a little hard with me. He’s made me crave it so much that even when I’m fucked up, I love his brutal touches on me.

“Fine, you fucking asshole! But I need to say bye to Bailee first!” I snap at him. When we get back to the house, I’m fuming. I push through the door since I know she usually leaves it unlocked whenever I’m here and have to leave for a while. Our neighborhood is in one of the fancy ones so we don’t need to worry about intruders here. I find her in the living room on the couch and I glare at her.

“I wonder how the asshole knew where to find me,” I say, giving her my best bitch stare.

“I’m sorry! But he was being so cute and romantic I just had to let him know,” she says with a pout and puppy dog eyes to get me to forgive her. I laugh at her words.

“Him?” I ask, pointing over my shoulder at him. “Cute and romantic? Try destructive and a bully,” I grumble.

“Well, we can still do that thing to him and then the animal thing if you ever change your mind,” she says. We both burst out laughing when I realize she’s talking about murdering him.

“I love you,” I say, smiling through my tears.

“I love you too. And if you go that long without contacting me again, I’ll come find your ass!” she says, smiling through her tears. We hug and say our goodbye and then I’m leaving her once more.

I was about to go sit in the back of the car but Knox literally lifted me and placed me in the passenger seat before shutting the door behind him. I roll my eyes as he makes his way to the driver’s side.

I look back at the house as we start to drive away and I see her still standing there. I give her a wave and she waves back at me. Then, we’re gone. I don’t know when I’ll see her again but I hope it’s soon.

Knox entwines his hand with mine, resting both on my thigh as he drives. When I try to pull away, he just grips my hand tighter in his. I stop fighting and rest my head against the window, letting out a sigh.

I already feel the anxiety clawing its way to the surface at the thought of returning to Riverside. I don’t know who assaulted and raped me. It could literally be anyone at that school, which obviously doesn’t help me to narrow it down at all.

“Where are we going?” I ask, finally breaking the silence.

“Times Square. I have something to show you,” he tells me.

“So you’ve said,”

“I think you’ll like it,” he says, looking a bit nervous.

“This better not be some dumb prank or anything like that because I will murder you in your sleep,” I mutter, and he rolls his eyes.

“It’s not. I told you that shit is done. You’re mine now and I’m going to take care of you,” he tells me. I don’t say anything to that and we remain in silence the rest of the way.

Twenty minutes later, we get to Times Square and Knox parks in front of one of the expensive hotels here. He gets out of the car and walks over to the passenger side, getting me out as the valet walks over to take his car. He takes my hand and leads us into the hotel, straight to the elevator. He pushes the top button and up we go. Of course, he’d get a room at the top.

When we step off the elevator, he walks us to the room and opens the door. He motions for me to step inside. The room is big and beautiful with a large sitting area in the entryway. There looks to be two rooms in here.

I walk straight over to the window that’s overlooking Times Square. It’s filled with people as usual. I’ve never seen it from this angle before and I’m loving the view.

“I’ll be back in a second,” he tells me and I nod. A moment later he’s back. “Come on, there’s a bath ready for you.”

“Huh?”
