I didn’t really know, but they both said, “Yes.”

Apollo laughed again and said, “Damn. No. Can’t do that.”

“Don’t think you need to worry about it, but you can have my answer right now, no. I don’t want you. I have a type. You’re not it. You need this clause to feel equal to them, fine. I just need you to know I’m not fucking you.” I was concentrating on not tensing my legs since Dane and Tituss had one each pressed against mine. I might be lying. I just knew that Apollo was another spoiled rich guy who thought he could have anything he wanted. Including me. He was darker, more dangerous than my current keepers, but so was I.

By showing me this contract, putting that clause in there, telling me he didn’t want me to make me want him, all he did was play most of his cards in one hand. He expected the poor girl to want him. He expected me to come easily to his call. Nope. And I only had to put up with him the rest of this year and next. That was a long time to learn someone, break them. And since he was getting off on the fact that these two didn’t want to let go so easily, I definitely wanted to break his ass. “I also want the option to stay with them. Because I’m not fucking you, but I’m not going to be celibate either when I have the option of fucking one or both of them.”

His brow arched. Oh, that piqued his interest all right. I looked at Dane and asked, “Is there anything else in this I need to worry about?”

I did trust him in this. He had made sure I was protected in the other one. He flipped through and said, “We can make a room—”

“No.” Apollo shook his head. “She has a room here. I made sure of it. She can’t boss them and live there. If she’s hiring more staff, then they need that room. If she stays at your house, she stays with one of you. Otherwise, she will be here, in this house. And you are not free to come and go in my house as you please.”

I looked from one to the other. Apollo clarified, “I mean them.”

“Of course.” I picked up the pen and put my initials and signature on the document.

They all signed as witnesses, and that was that. I looked at the three men who practically owned me now and asked, “I guess I should move my stuff.”

Apollo smiled and said, “Already done.”

“What?” I asked.

“Cass wanted your room.” He shrugged. Fucking bitch. We had been peaceful up to this point. “So. You gentlemen may exit, and I will show the lady to her room.”

No one moved. Apollo laughed again. “This is truly the best thing that has happened all year.”

I got up. “I’ll be over in a few. Let me get situated, and I’ll be right over, okay?”

They both stood up, slowly, but they stood. I looked from one to the next and smiled and said to the men who may or may not have had a choice in this bargaining agreement if their personal demeanors said anything, “Taco Tuesday, right?”

Tituss had a slight smile. He leaned in and kissed my cheek and said, “It’s just a room, right?”

“Right.” I smiled up at Dane as Tituss began to exit. “Just a room.”

He was in that dangerous thinking zone. “Two hours, max.”

I pulled out my phone and set the timer for a quarter till. He would be coming back. I could see that. Did not need that. Did need the pay increase, though.

They were out of the room, and I looked at a leaning Apollo and said, “Well?”

He got up and then led me to his room. I stood outside the door and looked at him. “You said my own room.”

“I did, didn’t I?” he teased. Then he looked at the door next to his and said, “That one.”

“Why?” I asked.

“It’s for your own good. Trust me.” He shrugged as if that was reason enough.

I shook my head and went to the room. I was aggravated and ready to really light into him, but as I stepped into it, I lost my words. I grew up poor. That never mattered to Tituss. He never treated me like less. He did buy things for me, but we were in high school. He couldn’t very well redo the apartment we lived in.

“Hope it’s to your liking. If not—”

I shook my head, held my hand up, but wouldn’t look at him. “It’s fine. I…need a minute.”

Apollo was not letting me have that alone. He moved into the room and then in front of me. He looked down, and I did too to prevent looking at him. His thumb moved across my cheek and caught the tear. He said, “I don’t want to fight with you all year, Harper. I want you to do for me what you did for them. We don’t have to fuck to build something special. Understand?”

I gulped. Slightly nodded. He put his hands on my shoulders and said, “I knew you would.”
