And that can be damn tough when all I want to do is hold him.

“While you’ve got him, I’m going to get out the food,” Jeanette says. She’s got the box of donuts on the table, and she pulls them out and puts them on the plates along with napkins. “You’re going to have to pretend you have candles. I don’t think there’s enough in the convenience store for me to put how old you are on all the donuts.”

“I mean, I don’t think we’re that old,” I say.

“But you have to multiply it by three,” Jeanette replies. “And if you do that, then it turns into a lot of candles.”

“Oh, come on, you just didn’t want to go out and have to clear out their candle supply,” Caleb says. “You can be honest about it. We know.”

“Easy now, you should be happy that I went through any of this trouble at all. I don’t think any of you deserve it after the way you’ve been to me for so long, but who’s keeping track of that?” she asks.

I roll my eyes. “Not you, evidently.”

“Alright, alright, we get it. Thank you for the donuts. It’s nice that someone is still out there who cares about us on a personal enough level that they’re willing to go through the trouble of calling the bakery down the block and having these delivered,” Terry says. “I do appreciate that minimal amount of effort you put forth.”

“You know, there are times when I’m really not sure if you’re being sarcastic, and it might help your case a lot for me to know. Not that you would care if I didn’t do this, but I think it matters,” she says.

“We’re just giving you shit,” I say. “You know we care about this. Thank you, really.”

“I just hope you know that we’re all going to want to have some amazing birthday sex,” Caleb says. “This is nice, but this is just the start. There’s no way this is the extent of what you’re doing for us for our birthday, right?”

“Duh,” Jeanette says. “I already asked Mags if she’ll take Hendrix for a couple hours tonight so we can have dinner together with it being your birthday and all, and she said she didn’t mind.”

“Did she ask you why?” I ask. “Like, why you would want to hang out with us without Hendrix?”

“I told her that we’re old friends,” Jeanette says. “I don’t think she knows that we’re really, really good friends, if you know what I mean.”

Caleb laughs. “If she knew, she’d be jealous.”

“Doubt it,” Terry says. “But as my gift to my two older brothers, I will let you, Caleb, have first dibs of what you do to Jeanette tonight.”

“Hey, that’s my gift to you too,” I tell Caleb. “And thank you, Terry, I love it. Since it’s clear that I get to go next.”

“So what are they giving you?” Jeanette asks Terry with a laugh. “I’ve never been given as a birthday present before.”

“I get you the rest of the time we have you,” Terry says with a smirk. “So they might get to have you first, but I get to have the rest of you until we have to take over Hendrix again.”

“There are benefits to that,” I admit. “But I’m still going to take my place as second in line.”

“And I’m always down to be first no matter what it is we’re talking about,” Caleb says. “When you have to do everything with both your brothers, you get used to grabbing things first when you get the chance.”

“I can only imagine,” Jeanette says.

“Tonight, you don’t have to imagine shit. We’re going to have a real life fantasy come true,” I tell her.

She grins. She knows how rough we can all be when we’re having sex, and since it’s our birthday, we’re not going to hold back. But that’s just the way she likes it. Just like the rest of us.

I love having my two brothers to share this with, even sharing the woman in my life.

It might not be the lifestyle for everyone, but I have no issue letting the entire world know that this is the lifestyle for me. For us.

And Jeanette has no problem with being our one and only.

SEVENTEEN

JEANETTE

“How exciting,” I say as I walk up to where Terry is working on his hair. He showered while I put Hendrix down for his nap, and now the two of us are alone as we wait for Caleb and Julian to come back with food.
