“What’s that?” Dusty asked.

“There’s a girl at the estate. She was in a room at the end of another wing. I heard Rocco talking. They were giving her a shot—a sedative. I’m sure of it. When I asked him about it, he said the girl was Nico’s niece. She was a troubled girl and Nico was caring for her.” She shrugged. “I guess at the time, I wanted there to be a valid explanation, so I believed it. But there’s something I just remembered. When Giselle first introduced me to Nico at a bar, there was a moment when I returned from the restroom and as I walked up to them, I overheard Nico telling her he was grateful he was an only child.”

“So that girl isn’t his niece,” Dusty filled in the answer.

Asia nodded.

Stan folded his arms and whistled. “You’re thinking she’s another virgin for auction?”

“I think she was sick. Maybe they were waiting until she was well, or maybe she’d tried to escape.”

“That’s all speculation,” Dusty said.

“You both know what’s going to happen to her. We have to get her out of there.”

“Whoa. Are you talking about going back to the island we just got you off?” Stan’s brows rose.

“I can’t live with myself if we don’t try.”

“Look, Asia,” Dusty started. “We came here for you. You’re the mission, not saving every other girl, too.”

“How can you even think of leaving that girl, knowing what’s going to happen to her?”

Dusty felt his blood boil, and he flung out a hand in the general direction of St. John. “You think I’m taking you anywhere near that place again? You’ve lost your damn mind.”

“I’m not leaving without her.” Her hands slammed on the counter, and they stared at each other in a faceoff.

Stan lifted a hand. “Okay, calm down, kids. Let’s think this through. We were tasked with getting you to safety, Asia. This other girl may or may not be a kidnapping victim.”

She put a hand to her chest. “I know it. I know it in my heart. And I can’t leave her.”

Stan looked at Dusty. “What do you think, buddy? You’re more vested in this than me.”

Dusty blew out a breath. “Tell me exactly what you saw.”

“I wasn’t supposed to see her, but I did. I heard her screaming. I snuck down that wing. I saw them administer a shot to her. Dusty, please, if what you say is true about Nico, what’s going to happen to that girl? We can’t leave her behind.”

“The mission was you, Asia.”

“Please, Dusty. There’s no escape from that island.”

“Give us a minute, doll.” Stan grabbed Dusty’s arm and pulled him to the living room. “That’s not the mission. That was never the plan. We rescue her, not all of them. Chris will flip his shit.”

“She refuses to go.”

“Then we drug her.”

“I’m not going to drug her, Stan. That makes me no better than Nico.”

“Then we get her off the island and go back for the girl.”

“No! I won’t leave without her,” Asia insisted, appearing in the doorway, her arms folded.

Dusty spread his arms wide. “Asia, this is insane. We’re having enough trouble trying to get you out of here. Now you want us to go back?”

“Yes. I’m not leaving without her.”

“Goddamn, you’re infuriating,” Dusty grumbled and paced. He could see he wasn’t going to get anywhere and looked at Stan. “You give it a try. She won’t fucking listen to a word I have to say.”
