They’d have a good life. He’d make sure of it. He’d do the work he needed to be the man she deserved, and he’d love her with all his heart. Someday, they’d fill the extra bedrooms with babies, and the yard with dogs and maybe a cat or two. And this house that had only ever served as a place to store his stuff and lay his head would finally become a real home, one filled with love and laughter.

He threaded his fingers into Asia’s hair and pressed a kiss to the top of her head, breathing in the shampoo she used which smelled like coconut and reminded him of the beach.

He smiled. She was his little beach girl. She’d fallen in love with it when he’d surprised her with a trip to Padre Island. That’s where he’d given her the ring.

Digging his toe in the sand, he’d created a three-foot heart, then kneeled in the center and proposed.

She’d been shocked and thrilled, and he was glad he’d been able to pull off the surprise. They’d spent four days there in a house on the gulf, with incredible views and a big four-poster bed.

In her arms was where he’d found everything he’d been searching for, all the peace and joy and contentment he’d craved for so long.

They were better matched than even he’d suspected. He still loved thrilling adventures, just was more careful with his safety these days. And he discovered she was up for anything. They’d even gone skydiving, her strapped in front of him. She’d loved it, and now wanted to take lessons.

He couldn’t be happier in this moment.

Life was good. Very, very good.

She squeezed him, and he felt her lips brush his chest.

He threaded his hands through her hair, cupping her head and tugging her up to his mouth for a kiss.

“Good morning, love of my life,” he murmured when he pulled back.

“Good morning, my love. What shall we do today?”

He grinned. “Whatever you want, baby.”
