“I was going to call you,” he says, facing me when we stop by the coffee table.

“I know. I just didn’t know what was going to happen.”

“Don’t worry about Matthew.”

“What are you going to do, Dante?”

He smirks. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to break his legs off or gouge out his eyes. There’s more than one way to get to a guy like Matthew Bouchard.”

“I was scared.” I say that without being specific about what scared me.

“Don’t be.” He pulls me in for a hug and his wild heartbeat fills my body.

As he holds me, I can’t imagine not being with him, or being with anybody else.

“I don’t want to marry him,” I mumble. “I can’t do it. How can I be with somebody else and feel the way I do about you?”

He pulls back and stares into his eyes, the depth of his gaze reaching down into my core.

“Be careful Printsessa, that’s not the kind of thing you should tell monsters like me.”

“You’re not a monster.” I touch his jaw.

“If you looked deep enough you wouldn’t choose me, Printsessa.”

“I have. And I did.”

He catches my hand and brings it up to his lips to kiss my knuckles, then he kisses me too.

This kiss feels different to the ones we’ve previously shared and those were already mind-blowing. This kiss feels like he’s making love to my mouth. Then when he carries me upstairs and strips off my clothes so he can plunge his hard cock into me, it feels like he makes love to me.

Another first for me. I’ve never known what it feels like to make love.

Avery was the friend who told me, you’d just know when it happens. The same way you’d know when you’re in love.

Both are happening to me at this moment. Both are the two memorable experiences I’ll carry in my heart forever.

As the sun rises the next day, brightening up the room, I rise too.

Sitting up in the bed, I glance at Dante’s still form lying next to me.

He’s fast asleep. This is the first that I’ve woken up before him.

Usually when I stay over, he’s already up and downstairs by the time I awake.

Even in his deep slumber he looks like a god. Like a vengeful one you don’t want to wake in case he banishes you to the underworld.

And I just spent another night with him.

Coming here was risky. Being here is still risky, but it was worth it. Last night was fantastic and I don’t want to go anywhere.

I want to stay right here next to him, but I know I have to get up and leave soon.

The last text I got from Miko warned me to get back home in time just in case Dad dropped by.

A quick check of my phone shows one message from Miko checking where I am. I quickly fire off a message letting him know I’m safe.
