Virgo glances back down at Serenity, then back to me. “Be careful, Dante.” His voice takes on a menacing sing-song edge.

“Always, my friend.”

“Alright. I’ll see you later.”

We give each other a curt nod before he walks back the way he came.

I return my gaze to the raven-haired princess, deciding to watch her and indulge my dick for a little longer.

Just a little, then I'll fall back.

Maybe…

ChapterThree

Serenity

He’s still watching me.

My handsome stranger was still watching me dance even when a spiky-haired guy went up to speak to him.

Spiky-haired guy left a few seconds ago, so I have all my handsome stranger’s undivided attention again.

The bass of the music vibrates through my entire body as I continue dancing to the beat.

Keen fascination and curiosity enrich his expression. As if he’s waiting to see what I’m going to do next.

The beat turns livelier, and I twirl around. It’s only at that moment I notice Harper is way across the room from me, dancing with the bartender she was flirting with.

Feeling my eyes on her, she glances my way and winks, then makes an exaggerated show of pointing from herself to the bartender—her code/sign for telling me she’s going to hang out with him for a while and I’m to continue what I’m doing.

I would. It’s just that with her gone, my confidence has taken a nosedive, waning out of existence. No way in hell wouldnormal mebe brave enough to dance for a man all by myself.

I’m about to call it quits and retreat, but when I look back at my handsome stranger, the way his eyes claim my body with lust-filled invisible fingers pumps me with confidence, pushing me to be as sexy as he makes me feel.

I use the temptation spiking my nerves to start swaying again to the beat and continuing this game we have going on here. Then I take things up a notch by running my hands slowly down my chest and hips.

The move elicits another grin from his face, so I do it again, this time turning in a slow, seductive twist.

I don’t know where the hell I’m going with this, and quite possibly, that damn wine has gone to my head, but I’m doing what I’m doing.

When I face the balcony again, my spirit falls because he’s not there anymore.

I scan the area looking from right to left, but I can’t see him anywhere.

He’s gone. Likepoof, as if he was never there.

Disappointment settles in the pit of my stomach, and I feel a little silly.

A little?

More like a lot. Knowing my luck, his girlfriend orwifecame to get him.

Maybe she even saw him watching me and didn’t like it.

I groan inwardly, mentally kicking myself. What was I even doing flirting like that with a complete stranger?

I glance at Harper again and find to my complete non-surprise that she’s making out with the bartender.
