I nod, open the folder, and see his name scrawled on a signature line. I try to blink back the tears of happiness, but I can't. My tears slide down my cheeks. All the paperwork from his lawyers that has been drawn up. There is a pen and a sticky note where I need to sign.

To my wife Jess,

Meet me where the light meets the dark, and I will always find you. Without you, I'm nothing. I want you to be part of me…all of me. Forever. Will you marry me…right now? I can't wait, and you shouldn't either. I love you, Jess. I hope you love me too.

Reid

I nod and pick up the pen and sign with my answer leaving my lips. "Yes! I love you, Reid Riordan. All of you. The fucked up parts, the crazy and insane parts."

He bolts out of the chair and picks me up in his arms, burying his face into my neck. "Fuck, I was so scared you would say no."

The door to his room opens, and Gia is standing with Dravin. I look up, and she frowns when she sees me crying.

"I could never say no to you. I love you, Reid. I love you."

"I take it she said yes, and from the looks of it," Dravin says, pointing at the paper, "she is Mrs. Riordan now."

Gia runs to the bed and screams with excitement. "You signed it! You're married, and we can have babies, and they can be the best of friends and we can raise them as brothers and sisters," she says, rambling with tears in her eyes.

I get up, donning my robe for modesty. I smile when Gia watches me from the mirror.

"I'm so happy for you, Jess."

I turn and give her another tight hug. "Thank you, I love you."

I look at the door when I hear footsteps down the hallway. I look up, and then I hear a familiar voice. My head turns, and I walk out with Gia to the bedroom and find Reid smiling, giving me that sexy wink.

"Jesse? Jesus, this place is gorgeous." I hear my mother's voice.

She comes into view. She looks like a boss lady. Her hair is done, and her makeup is delicately applied. Her clothes are all tailored, gone is the waitress uniform. Her black pencil skirt and cream-colored blouse look beautiful on her.

"Oh, Momma. You look beautiful," I tell her with a smile.

"Hello, Mom," Reid says, kissing her on the cheek.

"Oh, there is my boy. I can’t thank you and Jesse enough for giving me a makeover and a wonderful vacation at your beautiful resort. I just found out that ballroom dancing is even offered in a hotel.

My mother is considered a millionaire overnight with all the newly-acquired businesses Reid signed over to her with his business plan. She goes on and on about all the activities she did at Reid's hotel for the four days there. He had a personal shopper pick out her clothes and take her to get a makeover as the new owner of all the businesses back in town.

"We have to get going, I'm afraid," Reid says.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"House shopping, and you girls have a wedding to plan right before graduation."

After the weekend full of house shopping for my mother back home, courtesy of Reid, I look one last time at my now empty room and furrow my brows when I see something on the floor by Gia’s bed that I must have forgotten.

Holding the box in my right hand, I pick up the two string bracelets. I rub the pad of my finger over the red lettering, HER BELOVED, and the other bracelet reads, HIS BELOVED. Inside the box there is one of his notes.

My Dearest Sparrow,

Some may perceive the villain as beyond redemption, but deep down, we all yearn for the same thing—to experience love or avenge it. And my love, that is precisely why I affectionately call you my little Sparrow, for you embody the essence of true love. No love surpasses the magnitude of what you mean to me, my beloved. There are no limits to what I would do for you. While you may have believed it was him at times, know that I was there too, by your side during your darkest moments. Even in the quietest moments, where silence prevails, I am there, unconditionally. The gentle touch of our intertwined fingers draws me closer to you, igniting a profound connection. He may represent light, and I, his shadow, yet it matters not, for we are inseparable and intertwined. You are an integral part of us, just as we are an intrinsic part of you. Across this lifetime and beyond, through the brightest days and the darkest nights, we shall forever be part of you. You are eternally cherished, our beloved.

Eternally yours,

Zero
