“How are you…” Killian couldn’t help the wave of emotion that hit him as he heard his mother’s voice stepping inside the front door with Destiny. He hadn’t seen his mother in years.

“Killian, you’re here,” Everly said happily, hesitating and looking past him towards Destiny, with confusion written all over his sister’s face. “… And hello?”

“Destiny, this is my sister,” Killian said quietly, feeling Destiny tug nervously on his hand, knowing she was ready to bolt. There was a lot of people crowded in the room, and everyone seemed to be staring at them. “Everly, this is my wife.”

His sister’s mouth dropped open as Maestro chuckled softly from beside her, whispering something to her as he put his arm around Everly’s waist. It was a little weird to see the other man so affectionate with his sister, but then again – this is what he wanted for her, to be happy… and immediately copied him.

Killian slid his arm around Destiny’s waist, feeling a measure of pride in her shy smile as she looked around the room.

“Would you two step aside?” Killian heard and felt Destiny press closer to his side as the older woman shoved through the entryway, nudging people left and right so she could get into the doorway. “Where’s my boy, Caleb?”

“Nana!” Caleb hollered in delight, squirming to be set down immediately from Maestro’s arms. “Nana… I warshed da’matos for ‘ew!”

“Mm… Nana loves fresh tomatoes, too, my sweet boy. Now, where’s the chairs at in this place? Can’t a woman take a seat? Gracious, I had no idea picking up your brother and husband would be offering to shuttle a dang caravan. I never expected to pick up four people, and barely got everyone in the blasted car.”

“Four?”

Killian almost corrected the woman at Everly’s shocked expression… only to see Mallory standing there like she’d seen a ghost, looking right over Killian’s shoulder, directly behind him.

… At Paradox.

“Joshua?”

I knew it,Killian thought happily, smiling at Destiny’s nervous expression as the room was filled with questions being tossed about randomly in a chaotic manner.

“Why is Caleb calling your husband ‘Daddy’?”

“Since when did you get married?”

“Destiny, can you tell us about yourself?”

“When did this happen?”

“I don’t understand…”

“Hey Alex?” Everly was grinning as Mallory walked towards the doorway, not taking her eyes from the other pilot.

“Yeah, my love?” Maestro said openly, smiling at Killian’s sister.

“I’m so glad you are home.”

“Me too.”

“I’m pregnant,” Everly volunteered, smiling at Maestro, as he picked her up, hugging her, before jumping around happily.

“Alex Kendall Wilcox! Stop that! You’ll shake my great-grandbaby right outta her hoohey, if you don’t knock it off, young man!” Nana hollered angrily, shaking her cane at him.

“Dadddeee – no shaka’ da’hoohey!” Caleb barked out angrily, holding his finger up.

“That’s right, Caleb,” Nana announced. “You tell your father ‘what for’!”

“Did she say ‘hoohey’?” Destiny whispered, laughing nervously.

“Did Caleb?!” Killian retorted, laughing and kissing her temple.

“Everly’s pregnant?”

“Greaaaat,” Maestro muttered under his breath. “My grandmother just taught Caleb how to say ‘hoohey’…”
