“There’s a zipper that runs up to my neckline,” he whispered softly. “I see a lot of potential in these things, and might have to get you a pink one, just so I can unzip it when it’s time for baby number two…”

“No rush there, Romeo… still ‘brewing’ baby number one,” she retorted and he pictured her smile. “I saw you put a mirror in our bedroom and loved the photo you sent of your stomach profile. Is the mirror there for me… or just the baby-belly photos?”

“You’re in a mood, aren’t you?”

“I’m deprived…”

“Depraved?”

“That too,” he chuckled, and heard her laughing again. “Seriously though – if that mirror isn’t in our bedroom? I’m moving it when I come home.”

“Can I say something strange, and you won’t think I’m being critical?”

“Of course, my love,” he replied, suddenly curious. “What’s on your mind?”

“You think of me, of us, likethat… and I’m rolling my wrists like when we first met,” she chuckled. “But I love how driven you are when it comes to being intimate. You are brave, fierce, reckless, and I imagine that is how you fly… but I’m getting there slowly, taking your cues, and want you to know I’m by your side in more ways than one.”

“What do you mean?” he uttered, holding his breath as he listened, touched.

“The mirror is in our bedroom – and I bought the biggest one I could find,” she whispered shyly.

“Thank you,” he said hoarsely.

“So, while it’s not a mirrored ceiling and we do have a big bed,” she whispered, her voice soft and gentle just like her. “I guess maybe someday we’ll have that bathtub for two.”

“Done,” he croaked out, interrupting her, his voice breaking. “Whatever you want. Call the plumber today. Wait! Call a builder instead, and let’s add a bathroom onto our bedroom so the kids have one… and we have our own. I’m serious – and can we get those soft sponges for your back? Some smelly bubble bath? Candles? Whoaaa, I am not going to be able to leave this office for some time now…”

… And he heard the most wonderful thing in the entire world in that moment – and his brain shut down. A very confident, sexy, wicked laugh that made his toes curl in his boots and sent a shot of pleasure down his spine.

“Maybe someday…” she whispered knowingly.

“It will be our Christmas present to ourselves – this year and next. I’m serious. When I come home, we are going to talk about this again… right after I…ohhh no.”

“What?”

“How didtwelveminutes go by already?” he balked, hearing the countdown start on the phone… and laughing painfully.

“Killian, this has probably been the best Christmas ever – and just because I have you in my life.”

“Same for me, my love. Merry Christmas, darling – and we are going to talk about that add-on to the house eventually.”

“Deal,” she laughed softly. “We both love you – me and our peanut.”

“I love you both,” he smiled tenderly. “You and my peanut. Now, go back to bed, my love, and rest up.”

“Will do, let the pillow hugging commence…”

“Proceed with your orders,” he teased affectionately. “Love you.”

“Love you, too… always.”

Hanging up the phone, he sighed heavily… and then logged into the computer on Reaper’s desk. Opening up a window on Amazon, he bought several natural sponges of varying sizes, two massive bath towels, and a jug of bubble bath for his beautiful bride. Just before he clicked ‘check out’ – it hit him.

He also selected a plastic baby bathtub, a couple of little rubber ducks to float around, a bathtub seat for a toddler, and a few hooded towels for any gender – just in case.

It made him feel so good to spoil his girl – and to hear that she appreciated his affections, thriving under the attention, and knowing he could be pushy about some things… but she was right there with him.

Oh yes, her name was perfect – because she was his destiny, and there was no hesitation in his mind. This woman was his other half, his soulmate. She was his, and no one else would ever do for either of them now that they’d found each other.
