I slowly turned back around to see him standing there, his shirt open, showing me that glorious chest of his. The one I loved to rake my nails down.

I sat down on the seat he proffered and lifted the caloche of the platter between us. The smell was instant and invaded my nostrils causing me to moan.

It was a burnt butter and sage roasted chicken with roast vegetables.

“This smells divine.”

Halen smiled at me, and I instantly felt my pussy starting to spark to life. “I’m going to be heading up to the city tomorrow.”

“Oh, why?”

“I have a standing invitation to a family dinner with my mother and brother,” he said. “I didn’t think you’d want to come, plus, I wouldn’t want you to suffer through a night with my mother.”

I chuckled. “You don’t get along?”

“Not entirely, no.”

“But you still go?”

He nodded. “I guess I’m a good boy.”

He cut into the chicken and put some on my plate before his own. I felt funny about him leaving me down here, especially since Zane was furious with him.

I had a bad feeling about his trip there, like maybe I wouldn’t see him again. Zane was a jealous man, and he would do anything to claim what he considered to be his.

“When will you be back?”

“By midnight,” he said with confidence. “You won’t even notice I’m going, but I thought you should know.”

I nodded. My mind was racing as I tasted the juiciest chicken I had ever tasted. This food was better than in Zane’s world class hotels.

I never wanted to leave his place.

But I knew I had to.

We ate in silence, every now and then we talked about little things, but nothing important. It was nice.

“Are you all right?” he asked me once our meal was done and our glasses were empty.

“Yes,” I said quickly. “Sorry, it’s been a long day. Maybe a night cap and I’ll head to bed.”

He nodded, getting ready to get up but I put my hand up. “You’re always serving me. Let me get you a drink.”

He sat back down and nodded, watching me closely as I poured his drink. I poured mine too and came back to the table.

He sipped at it cautiously, as if he wondered if I hadn’t made it properly, but when he put the glass back down he smiled.

“You’ve done that before.”

“Once or twice. My daddy was a drunk, he taught me how to pour a drink.”

His smile disappeared. He hated to hear about my past, and I didn’t blame him. I hated that it had happened to me too.

I finished my drink. “I’m going to head to bed. I’ve had a big day.”

“Of course,” he said, getting up and opening the dining room door for me. He grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. His lips were on mine, soft and sweet this time and it still had the same effect it did when he crushed his lips to mine. I could taste the bourbon on his tongue.

I smiled at him, as I walked away, still reeling from the sweet kiss. As I walked into my room, I could see he was watching me walk away, his eyes glued on my ass. I fought not to laugh as I sashayed a little before I walked into my room and closed the door.
