Her forehead pressed to the bedding, the scents of sex surrounded her, and the sounds rang in her ears. A hand wove in her hair and lifted her head, bending her toward him, and Mahel rested on one arm while holding and twisting her to kiss him. His tongue twined with hers and wrapped around it.

Kresso laughed softly. “She’s getting to full scent quickly. That took the edge off. Lyra, would you like to see our temporary home while we get used to each other?”
“Can I wash up a little? I don’t want to stick to myself.”
Kresso got to his feet and carried her into the bathing chamber. She was cleaned up, they were cleaned up, and a trickle of liquid slowly snaked down her inner thigh. She grumped and wiped off the traces with her fingers before going to wash her hands.
Kresso chuckled. “Don’t like leaking?”
“It is disconcerting. Odd. When my proper sense of smell kicks on, I am sure it will be enthralling, but for now, it is just a tickle that’s sticky.”
Mahel blinked. “Your sense of smell...”
Kresso snorted. “Don’t worry. She’s fully mature. She’s only been walking around for six days, so her senses are coming online one at a time. Her slick glands were the first to wake. Then her teeth.”
“Wait. Is the scent thing something that comes with age?” She frowned. “I didn’t get that far into my education. I haven’t finished reading about puberty, and no one mentioned the ears.”
Mahel laughed. “They are the last things to develop, so it was a bit of a test.”
She snorted. “So glad you were sure before you participated in today’s events.”
Kresso grinned. “Not everyone was privy to your exact scans. Himyana, Imko, and I were the only ones who knew about your teeth and what they contain.”
She touched the spots where her teeth had receded. “Is it a problem?”
Kresso shrugged. “I am fine with it.”
“I can just not bite you until there’s a boy.”
Mahel chuckled. “I don’t think we want that. I would love the chance to have a daughter.”
