“You want to...what?” She stammered from her soft, lush, and very pink lips, hiding a mouth he also knew would taste as sweet as her scent and would melt his cock in a heartbeat.

“I want to buy your virginity, Ms. Reid,” he said as he turned toward Smith and nodded. His lawyer slid a single sheet of paper across the desk toward her. She kept her focus on him alone, not daring to look down at what Smith had placed in front of her.

Her lips parted, and she gasped as if, finally, his proposition had sunk into her brain. She clutched her throat and panted softly.

“You want to...” She swallowed, and it looked like a painful process for her. “Umm... you want to umm... me?”

“Yes,” he said softly, keeping her gaze imprisoned with his, making his intent very clear.

I want to guide my cock between your spread thighs and sink so deeply inside you that I'll rid myself of this hold you have on me, once and for all.

He formed a fist with his hand. This woman, as innocent as she was sexually, inspired an unrepentant, ravenous desire in him. One night. He needed one night to eradicate her hold on him.

“You will find my terms are straightforward yet considerably lucrative. There aren't any hidden clauses, Ms. Reid. I will pay you a sum of money for the pleasure of your body. If you wish to bring in your own legal representative, you may do so.”

“Precisely,” Smith added. She swung her head toward one of the rare people Hunter had afforded an infinitesimal amount of trust in.

“This is just a draft of a possible contract,” his lawyer continued. “Should you wish to add anything else into the contract, like the duration, where exactly you want it to occur, or the manner in which you prefer it to be... performed… can be added before the parties involved sign an agreement. You can add whatever will make you feel comfortable to the core of the existing contract. You are not without your own options and demands, Ms. Reid.”

“But you want to pay me—” She looked at Hunter, then stopped and turned her attention to Smith again. Clearly, she trusted his lawyer more. “He wants to pay me to... sleep with him?”

“Sleeping will be optional, Ms. Reid,” Smith said. “If you wish to include it in the contract, by all means. What Hunter wants is your body, your virginity, and he is willing to pay you for that.”

“But why?” Her tone was laced with incredulity.

“I've never had a virgin before.” Hunter unwrapped his fist and twirled a pen in circles on the surface of his desk. That seemed to be the most suitable answer he could give her.

“And you think I can be bought?” She asked indignantly, her eyes glittering with pride. She looked like a little lion cub, infinitely insulted. He couldn't help but grin at her.

“For a price. If not in monetary value, then there must be something you want. Name it, and I will give it to you.”

“If I reject your offer, will you fire me then?”

“I may be considered heartless, Ms. Reid, but I am fair. Should you decide to reject my offer, that will be the end of it.”

“Is this how you get all your dates, Mr. McLeod? By making them sign contracts and offering them money to sleep with you?” She seemed to have gained some self-righteous traction, enough to make her stand up to him.

“I'm not asking to date you. I want to fuck you, and I want to pay you for your time.”

She blushed furiously at his blunt words. She was such an enigma. She displayed an array of sophistication when it came to her intelligence, but the response in her body made her blush like the innocent she was.

“Well, in that case,” she started, back to being haughty. I can't be bought, Mr. McLeod. My virginity is not for sale, today or ever.” She stood and purred with immense displeasure now. Both he and Smith stood as well.

Hunter wanted nothing more than to send his lawyer away, lift her tight gray skirt, and take her over the desk until he had wiped out all her displeasure.

“I suggest you take your time and think it over, Ms. Reid. I can understand it is not a common request, but then...” Smith sighed and looked at him. “Hunter is not a common man.” He handed her the single-page contract. She seemed hesitant to take it. “Just think it over, Kensley,” he continued. “We'll meet again tomorrow morning at, say, nine, here in Hunter’s office again, and you can give us your formal decision then.” He smiled at her, and she gave him a half smile back, nodded, and took the contract.

“It was nice meeting you, Mr. Smith.” She then dropped her gaze onto Hunter. “Mr. McLeod, I wish I could say the same of you.”

Hunter followed the sexy sway of her hips as she ambled out of the office, leaving behind hints of her perfume to torture him even more.

“You know, Hunter, I've closed maybe hundreds and hundreds of deals for you,” Smith said as soon as the door shut behind her. “But this may not be one of them.” He stared Hunter down. “Women like to be courted, taken out for dinner, given flowers, and all that stuff. Hell, you would have stood a better chance of getting her into your bed if you showed her one of your islands instead of a bloody contract.” He clasped his briefcase closed and exhaled noisily.

“She might be the one, you know, to soften that granite heart of yours. Get to know her a little. She's gorgeous, damn smart, and brave enough to stand up to you. I certainly like her a lot after just a few moments of meeting her. You might actually like her, Hunter. It's a human thing to do. To like someone. To spend time with them. To date them. With your looks, and if you turned the charm on even just a fraction, she'd be falling for you in a heartbeat.”

Charles Smith liked nothing more than adding therapy sessions to his legal services. After knowing Hunter for as long as he had, he knew Hunter didn't go about things the way everyone else did. But his lawyer and friend never stopped trying to change him.

He was going to miss the man when he fired him from his job as his lawyer in as little as a month from now. Smith had no idea what was going to happen.
