“There will be no dick-sucking for you or me on this island. Understood?”

“Who pays who?”

Fucking arrogant prick.

“Seems like you’re confused about how this works,” I say, tapping my chin. “I find you opportunities. You agree to a project, and I make a deal. Then they pay us.” I smash my lips together, widening my eyes. “Isn’t that a novel concept?”

“Are you going to do your job or what?” he says, completely ignoring my reminder that he does not, in fact, pay me dick.

“I am.” A yawn escapes me, and he narrows his eyes in on me. “I’m going to get some more coffee first.”

“You better, because I need you on your toes. The bullshit around here needs to be fixed and fast. When we shoot later today, everyone needs to act like professionals.”

I choke but quickly mask it with a fake cough. Brad, of all people, talking about being professional is a wholly ridiculous contradiction. He doesn’t seem to notice my slight because he keeps blabbering on.

“Doubt it. But one can hope. The last time we tried to film this scene, Teagan fell.”

My eyes widen. “That’s the scene they’re filming today?”

Now Teagan’s arm flapping and overall crazy-toon actions make sense.

“Yep.”

Brad doesn’t need to clarify whether I know what scene he’s talking about. It’s the scene that made all the gossip influencers' feeds only two days ago. It’s why we’re all here on this isolated island, sleeping in run-down huts.

The set isn’t safe, and the branch Teagan stepped on was not secure. It can’t happen again.

The influencers insist someone had broken the branch. Why would someone sabotage the set and put Teagan, or anyone else here, in harm’s way?

I think it’s bullshit. Someone was sleeping on the job and didn’t bother to do a safety check. I chalk it up to an overzealous influencer trying to go viral by concocting a conspiracy.

Not that it matters. Nobody should’ve known what was going on here. It’s a closed set, so the news was leaked from within. One of many leaks that started the moment filming began. The question is, did Stefan fire whoever had loose lips? Or are they still standing in the wings, waiting to share the next glitch?

The appearance of Natasha leads me to believe Stefan’s not so sure the culprit’s gone.

Fantastic.

If someone is trying to ruin the film, the larger question is why? What do they have to gain?

Only time will tell.

For now, my focus is on getting this film rolling and keeping Brad’s dick in his pants.

Fuck my life.

@Stargossip: Brad was the Wright guy for the role, but we’ve been told that Teagan continues to look like a deer in headlights. Sounds to us like her spot should’ve gone to a seasoned actress. Someone who deserves to be next to the likes of Brad. What do you think?

@BitchPleaseMe: He sure is fiiinnneee!

@ShakeItOn: Give the girl a break. She’s poppin’ her cherry!

@FreshLinenLicker: @Stargossip Stop feeding into rumors!

@Deathtothesystem: Replace them both! They’re the worst . . .

I haven’t been here for a day, but from the moment I stepped off that junker boat, it was clear the set had problems. I don’t need a TMZ article to figure that out. The writing is all over the walls or, in this case, the trees.

I’m as nervous as Teagan is about today, but I can’t let her see that. She needs all the confidence she can muster going into today.

So do I.

I’m about to go head-to-head with whomever I need to in order to ensure my client’s safety.

I follow the path that Michael instructed me to take to find Stefan and Jeffery. Just up ahead, there’s a hut, not unlike mine, but a little bigger.

The door is open, and I wonder if I’m the last to arrive.

Unlike last night, I look down as I take the steps up. The last thing I need is to embarrass myself in front of everyone by getting my foot stuck again.

It had been humiliating enough in front of Paxton.

But he helped you.

Doesn’t matter. There will be no incidents happening in that regard again.

When I step inside, Teagan, Brad, Paxton, Stefan, and Jeffery are already here, as I feared.

Shit.

The person who I’m surprised not to see is Theresa. She’s typically stuck to her daughter’s side, causing all sorts of headaches for everyone. I quickly wipe that from my mind, not wanting to inadvertently manifest the Wicked Witch of the West into existence. For whatever reason, she isn’t here, and I’m grateful.

“So nice of you to join us.” Paxton drawls as he lifts his wrist and checks the time. Making it clear to everyone watching that I’m late.

I narrow my eyes at him, doing my best to communicate that I will cut him. Into paper-thin turkey pieces. I’m talking real thin here. It has no effect. Instead of shutting up, he smirks. Asshole.
