“Yeah, those fuckers brandin’ her is goin’ to be a constant reminder too.”

She presses a shaky hand against her chest. “Yeah, having those men ejaculate on her is something else she’ll never forget. I just hope with love and therapy, she’ll be able to heal from the trauma she’s faced.”

I stare at the bright silver-haired woman as her words hit me. “They fuckin’ what?”

She blinks rapidly as she watches me. “Oh, you didn’t know?” She shakes her head. “I thought you did when you said branded…” she trails off.

I reach for Chloe’s nightdress and raise the hem to her thigh, where the Dirty Demons insignia is. “I meant this.”

Callie’s eyes harden at the brand on her daughter’s leg.

“Tell me what happened.” It’s a demand. Now I know those fuckers did that shit to her, I’m going to make the pain they will feel even more painful than they could have ever thought.

She shakes her head, tears shining in her eyes.

“I thought you knew,” she whispers. She pulls in a ragged breath. “Those animals stood in front of her and made themselves come all over her.” Her voice is soft and shaky as tears roll down her cheeks. “My baby was subjected to those filthy fucking animals, and there’s nothing we can do about it. We should have protected her. That’s our job as her parents, and we failed her.”

“No,” I snarl as I shake my head. “This is not on you or Denis. This is on the cunts who took my woman. This wasn’t your fault. This is down to Sean Kelly and those Dirty Demons.” Fuck, those bastards deserve to be hung for the shit they’ve done. “They’re goin’ to be in a world of hurt when they die. They’ll beg for mercy.”

Her lip curls. “I've lived my life knowing who and what my family are. Stephen is like a brother to me. He kills and he enjoys it. He loves the thrill of it. My brother is the same. And I get it. I understand that the things they have done and the things they have seen have caused them to be who they are. I’m not one who gets off on death, but I will tell you this. For what those animals did to my daughter, they deserve everything they’re gonna get, and I hope to God it hurts.” Her chest heaves as she clenches her fists. “And yes, my uncle has Sean Kelly. He is keeping him until we arrive back in Dublin.”

I smile. Another bastard for me to take down. “Good.”

“Pyro,” she says, and there’s something about her voice that has me on alert. “Chloe’s entire life is in Dublin. Her family and friends. Everything she’s ever known is there. I’m not really sure how you and Chloe came about, but I think you need to know that her home is with us.”

This is the second time I’ve heard that, and I have no idea what to make of it. “Right now, we’re just focusin’ on gettin’ Chloe better.”

Callie shakes her head. “The memories don’t fade, Pyro. It’s been almost six years since someone broke into my house, and I still hate being alone in my home. I can’t stand the darkness. It eats away at me. I still have that fear. It doesn’t go away. And I hate that my daughter is going to feel the same way. What she went through is even worse than anything I could have imagined.” She swallows hard, her tears falling thick and fast.

“I wish I could take it away. I wish she didn’t have to go through it. I wish it could have been me. My kids are my life, Pyro. I would die for them. It hurts me so much that she’s in pain and afraid. My baby went through so much. I’m asking you—no, I’m pleading with you. If all you want is fun, walk away.”

“If fun was all I wanted, I wouldn’t be here,” I grunt. I understand where she’s coming from. She wants the best for her daughter, and it’s understandable, especially after everything she’s been through. “She needs to know that I’m not going anywhere. And as I said, my main priority is getting Chloe to heal from what happened. I’m going to come back and tell her that the men who hurt her, can’t anymore.”

Callie gives me a soft smile. “The men are leaving soon. They’re going to end this. I believe you want to be there when it happens.”

I lean forward and press a kiss against Chloe’s head as I climb off the bed. “I’ll be back, and then we can tell her she’s safe.”

“Thank you for finding my daughter.” She presses a kiss against my cheek as I pass by her. “You do not understand how much we owe you.”

“You don’t owe me anythin’. Chloe is mine. I would move Heaven and Earth to find her.”

“It’s good that she has you. I’m glad you finally found your something special.”

Christ. The woman is fucking sweet. Now I know where Chloe gets it from. They may not be biologically related, but Callie Gallagher definitely shaped her daughter to be the woman she is today.

“Go,” she whispers softly. “They’re waiting. I’ve got Chloe.”

I walk out of the room and close the door after me. I know she’s safe with her mom. Which means I can let my anger take over and unleash everything I’ve been bottling up since finding out Chloe was missing. It’s time to kill those Dirty Demons. And I’m going to enjoy every second of doing so.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

CHLOE

“Chloe, are you awake?” I hear a voice, and it’s not familiar, but also not strange. I feel as though I’ve heard it before.

I try to open my eyes, but nothing happens. Pain erupts in my head, and I squeeze my eyes shut tight.

“Chloe, open your eyes, sweetheart.” I definitely know that voice. It’s Ma’s. “I need you to open your eyes, sweetie.”
