“I don’t need to,” I hiss. “Think my chest speaks for itself.”
“She’s eighteen, Elio. She’s only eighteen.”
“I know exactly how old she is, Jade. Tell me, if it were Hayes in my position and Ade in Chloe’s, how would you react?”
She looks away. “Rocco’s right,” she says after a beat. “We’ll get you your revenge, but my family needs theirs too.”
This is utter bullshit. Getting into bed so closely with another family was meant to strengthen our bond, not have the fucking Irish take over. I glare at Rocco. “When can I leave?” I need to get the fuck out of here. Being in this place and not being able to do anything is going to drive me crazy.
“You’re going to need a few days at least. They’ll see how well the graft is taking first. But from what the doctor said the last time, it looks good. So hopefully in a few days.”
Christ. Now I’m going to have to put up with both Adelina and Jade fussing over me. That’s not what I need in the slightest.
“We’re going to find out who did this,” Dario assures me. “Every man is on the job.”
I smirk. Dario and I are a lot alike now that he’s grown the hell up. We’re loyal to the Famiglia and will do anything to rectify a wrong. Knowing my brother, he’s working on a scheme to ensure that I get my revenge.
“Thanks, bro. Have Emiliano come see me when you can.”
He nods. “He’s my first call,” he assures me. “You need pain meds, bro? You look like you’re in pain.”
“I’m fine,” I say through clenched teeth. “I’ll be even better if I can get the fuck out of here.”
Dario smiles. “Always were an impatient fucker. I’ll call Emiliano. Try not to kill anyone,” he says, his gaze on Rocco.
Jade also says her goodbyes, but Rocco stays. He watches me with assessing eyes. “You really think that I’m not putting the Famiglia first.”
“Tell me, brother, what would the men say if they found out about the deal you made? Hmm? That you agreed to let the Gallagher’s have the men who took Chloe, all while you sit back and don’t get revenge on the people who burned me?”
He’s got to see that it’s a bad look. Fuck.
He steps up to the bed and regards me with those dark eyes so much like our father’s. “I’ve made a deal that when the bastards are found, they die. I thought they’d have been found by now. It’s been three fucking days, Elio, and not one person has come forward with information about them.”
“No one knows who they are?”
He shakes his head. “No. So while Jade thinks I did her family a solid by agreeing to let them take those bastards out, we’re working on finding them, and as soon as we do, we’re moving into their turf. I want that shit, Elio. I want them and their families to know that they can’t mess with the Gallo’s.”
I shake my head. I should have known he’d be a sneaky bastard. Of course he’d want the territory of whoever did this. They’d have to have a vast amount of it. No small-time fish are going to come after a Gallagher and a Gallo. No. Someone has big balls, and they were hoping that I’d die so they’d get away with it.
Bullshit. That’s not happening. Ever.
“Find them,” I snarl. “I want them found, Rocco. I want to know who the leader is. I want to ruin him. I don’t care if it’s a child of his; I want to destroy them.”
He smirks. “That, I can do.”
I nod, still beyond pissed that I can’t get the revenge I want, but I’ll make sure I get to deal some sort of pain to someone.

“He still alive?”I question Emiliano.
Emil smiles. “Yes. He’s tried to escape three times and all three times he’s been beaten. But he’s still breathing.”
I’m now curious to see what the asshole looks like. My men love to use their fists. Love to show people just how ruthless they can be. They mean business, and they’ll do whatever they can to hurt someone.
“Is Lorenzo here?”
It’s been ten days since that shit happened and Chloe went missing. Ten days and still there’s no sign of her and no one knows who took her. I spent a total of nine days in the hospital. The doctors let me out once I was cleared, with the instruction to not do anything strenuous. I had to laugh at that shit.
