“Thank God for that—motherfucker,” I hiss when I catch my arm on the door and slice it.

Salem jolts in my arms. As if sensing my pain in her sleep, she lifts her hand and wraps it around my forearm.

“Shit, you’re bleeding. Let’s get you cleaned up.” Greg pushes us toward the plane, and I feel Salem’s warm energy knit the wound together.

Once on board, Oz leans over and shakes his head, seeing that the cut is gone. Moving around to my other side, he checks Salem’s arm and finds a bleeding gash.

“She’s healing in her sleep now?” he says wryly.

“She’s what?” Crew asks, frowning.

Greg looks at my arm, his eyes going wide. “What the hell, man? I saw you cut that.”

“Yeah, about that…” Oz looks at me.

I was going to let Salem decide who she told, but I never banked on her healing me while she was asleep. “Can I just lay her down first? I’ll explain everything after.”

“Yeah, go. There are a couple of backpacks with clothes. Nothing girly, though. This isn’t Luna’s usual ride,” Greg reminds me.

“It’s fine. Thanks.” I nod for Oz to stay here for a minute to keep an eye on things while I carry Salem to the bedroom.

Once inside, I close the door and lay her on the bed. I tug off her shoes and socks first before removing her shorts. Next, I sit her up and take off her T-shirt. I find a clean one in one of the packs and slip it over her head before laying her back down. I pull the blanket up over her and press a kiss to her temple. My eyes drift to the cut on her arm that’s already started to scab, and I shake my head.

I quickly strip out of the white coat and my bloody clothes and pull on a clean T-shirt and a pair of sweats before grabbing a set for Oz and heading out to the guys. I toss Oz the clothes and sit in the seat beside him as Greg and Crew watch me with interest.

“Salem saved our lives. When we crashed, we were hurt. Bad. If it wasn’t for her…” I blow out a breath. “We wouldn’t be here now.”

They’re quiet for a moment, letting my words sink in.

“So, she can heal people?” Crew looks at me, then Oz.

“Yeah. She can. That’s why the government wants her.”

“Fucking hell,” Greg curses. “That sounds like something out of a damn movie. If I hadn’t seen it with my own two eyes, I’m not sure I’d even believe it. Hell, I’m still not sure if I believe it.” .

“I know, it’s a lot. She has been through more than you can imagine. But guys, she’s important to us.”

“You’re not exactly hiding that. It’s—” An explosion cuts off his words as the ground shakes beneath us.

“What the fuck?” I run to the window and see orange fill the sky.

“Shit, was that the clinic?” Oz asks, looking out the window beside me.

I look at him and nod. “I think so. But who would blow it up and why?”

“I don’t know, but if we’re lucky, most of the people who know we’re alive are dead.”

“On the plus side, nobody is going to find Alejandro now.” I smirk.

Oz laughs.

“Okay, you two need to explain what the hell is going on.” Crew sighs.

“You tell them,” I say to Oz. “I’m going to join Milo and get us the hell out of here.”

“Uh, just remember, you crashed the last plane you flew,” Oz reminds me.

“Well, then I’d say the odds are in our favor. Whoever heard of someone crashing a plane twice?” I walk away, ignoring Oz’s cursing, knowing I need to do this now, or I’ll never get into a cockpit again.
