CHAPTER15

HECTOR

Stupid fucking bitch. Couldn’t do a simple task and get her son to listen to her. To get him to hand over my property. Instead, she tried to escape my clutches, like that could happen. They all belong to me.

Noelle, most importantly.

She’s worth more and more to me.

That bastard was a smart man when he traded her to me for his life. I even went along with the game to keep the ruse up for Noelle. Such a naïve,dulcewoman. No matter everything she’s worth, she’s also mine. My property. Mine. Andmi dulcewill not slip through my fingers. I’ve worked far too hard to let that happen. The stupid cunt and bastard who raised her thought they’d get a cut, but that ain’t gonna happen. The two of them think themselves clever to think what they’re gonna try and do where Noelle is concerned, but I do. I’m nowhere as stupid as they seem to think I am.

Noelle is the key to millions, but the kicker is she is to live, marry, and have an heir. However, the stipulations for marriage are that she must be twenty-five or older. I find the whole thing tedious, in my opinion. But I have no problem making sure Noelle does all of those things.

Some might say I’m obsessed with the woman. Who can blame me when I get off on the fear she radiates . . . it’s intoxicating, and I won’t have her taken from me. Those who have her will pay. I won’t lose Noelle, not to them or anyone.

I will havemi dulceback where she belongs, and then I’ll have to punish her for leaving me.

“Please, I tried,” Carla pleads, on her knees in front of me, one of my men standing behind her.

“Not hard enough,” I sneer and look at the other two next to her. “What do you have to say for yourselves?”

“I . . . I’ll get her for you,” the bastard says, eyes wide, panic filling them easily. “I swear, I’ll get her.”

I raise a hand, palm out, halting him from speaking further. One of my other men grips that bastard’s hair and wrenches his head back.

“You will not do a damn thing.” I stand and pick up the long knife my father gave me when I made my first kill years ago. I step close and squat down in front of the old bastard and smirk. “Thought you were clever. All this time, I let you think you were. Now, you’re worthless. All three of you. I have no use for worthless. You did your part, and now, that has come to an end.” Straightening, I raise the edge of my blade to the other man’s throat and sink it in deep, sliding it through his flesh like it was butter. The women scream and struggle to get away, but they know what’s coming. They just don’t know what will happen first.

I laugh and wave the knife in the air. “Have at it, men.” I grin, giving them permission to do as they please with the women. I know, without a doubt, they’ll rip the bitches apart from the inside out.

The women’s screams of terror fill my ears with humor as they are dragged away.

Out of the corner of my eye, I spot my right-hand man, Ernesto, making his way to me.

“What is it?” I demand. I’d had him watching the house Carla led us to.

“She’s there. I know it. Didn’t see her, but Beckham hasn’t left. From what I’ve found out about him, he’s territorial and was best friends with her brother years ago.”

“Ahh, yes, the brother.” I nod. “It’s fortunate for me he was killed rather than Noelle.” I tilt my head from side to side, hearing it crack with each movement. Beckham will pay. I’ll be sure of it. No one steals from me. More than that, I refuse to allow anyone to get away with hitting me. He’ll die, and I’ll let Noelle watch as I gut him. It’ll teach her never to run away from me again.

“What would you like me to do?” Ernesto asks.

The million-dollar question.

“Let’s watch them for a few days. See what they’ll do.” A plan starts to form in my head, and I grin at Ernesto. “Beckham . . . he’s in the Devil’s Riot MC?”

“Yes,” Ernesto confirms.

“Good, then we’ll take a few days. Watch them all. Then we’ll take them all out. Best way to handle an ant is to go ahead and take out the whole colony.”

And I intend to take them all out. Mateo is due to visit soon, and he’ll see that there is nothing to worry about and I have everything under control. He’ll meet Noelle and find I’m capable of handling things. If I could, I’d . . .another thought pops into my head, and I burst out laughing, wondering why I never thought of doing it sooner.

I don’t need Mateo’s approval if I do this. All I need to do is take him and the others out of the equation altogether. Then I’ll have the power over the cartel, the distribution, and Noelle, along with all that she holds.

Yes, I do believe that’ll do. I’ll hold off until I have everyone where I want them. Once I do, I’ll make my moves.
